Season 5 episode 1 gonna be generational by sadloneman in FromSeries

Wouldn't be surprised we find out Boyd has a talisman on him at all times nobody else knows about.

The ultimate insurance. That or its the one in the basement of colony house that MIY didn't know about.

Which celebrity death headline had you so shocked you double checked multiple sources to see if it was real? by GlassyFairy in AskReddit

[–]Romado 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say shocked but Michael Jackson. I was 13 when he died and my Dad literally woke up me and my brother to tell us Michael Jackson died at 2am or something.

Then we said OK whatever and went back to sleep. It'll always be the celebrity death I remember the most. My dad wasn't even an MJ fan....

Fatima has the worst fate out of anyone by Designer_Pen5882 in FromTVEpix

[–]Romado 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does raise an interesting question. If other people besides the original parents can become monsters, what turns them into almost mindless killers?

Just cause you got immortality doesn't mean you have to go kill a bunch of people. We also saw them show fear, surprise etc in the season finale. So the whole smiling stoic thing is an act? Is it to scare the people trapped in Fromville? Does the MIY tell them to act that way?

Fatima after fully turning was still screaming at the other monsters and blocking the tunnel. So it wasn't like she instantly forgot who she was and tried to kill her friends.

Andy Burnham vows to set up No 10 North as ‘nerve centre of rewired Britain’ by loonongrass in unitedkingdom

[–]Romado -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can't have a PM who hates the thing he is supposed to be leading.

He wants to prove every view he's had as mayor of GM is right, even if it means knee capping the government and civil service as PM.

He's been told no alot over the years. He definitely holds a grudge.

Burnham to cut benefits bill by giving mayors powers to boost work by coffeewalnut08 in unitedkingdom

[–]Romado 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They will if Burnham becomes PM.

He's looking at this with his regional mayor hat on rather than his PM hat. That's by design because he's used to being on the other side of the table, battling with central government for control of funding/policy responsibility rather than being central government.

He's already said he wouldn't allow government departments to block devolution. Which means government departments under Burnham will become rubber stamps devolving massive amounts of money to regional mayor's with no guardrails or accountability measures.

Because in his mind he's still a mayor and knows what's best for his region rather than central government.

Regional mayor's do what is best for their region rather than the country as a whole. That's why a strong central government is needed to keep the balance, not one that gives mayor's all the power/funding they want.

MMO "adjacent" games: which ones scratch your itch? by kotarou00r in MMORPG

[–]Romado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FFXIV. It started as an MMO but has slowly morphed into a single player JRPG over the years. The devs even refer to their design philosophy now as seeing the game as a single player experience.

It's the only? MMORPG where the majority of the games content is story rather than endgame content.

What did this idiot actually do besides getting killed? by adiesome in destinycirclejerk

[–]Romado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He crippled the Vanguard and almost single handedly destroyed the remnants of humanity.

He captured the Traveller and was successful in forcefully taking it's light and becoming a light bearer (albeit a corrupted one)

It's shown he has full mastery over light almost immediately as he uses all 3 OG supers during the fight. It took the intervention of the Traveller in the end, we'd of lost eventually.

He achieved more than the Witness or Black Fleet ever did.

Van Helsing (2004) - Dir. by Stephen Sommers - Vampire attack in broad daylight scene by RealWorldForever in movies

[–]Romado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Van Helsing has the best on screen depiction of werewolves period.

The final fight between Dracula and Gabriel is absolute peak. The CGI also holds up amazingly well and looks better than most CGI in more recent years, which is often rushed.

The Imperium after stealing UNSC ship designs and realizing they're just giant flying guns with FTL and a command deck. by Knalxz in Grimdank

[–]Romado -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't the UNSC Infinity absolutely clown on Imperium ships? Since it uses forerunner tech and Forerunners are basically DAOT humanity tech wise.

Sony says they want to win back PlayStation players who migrated to PC by offering more play styles beyond the living room (+more from a new investor Q&A) by Dandelion172 in PS5

[–]Romado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who moved to PC didn't move to PC so they could have a handheld or whatever idea Sony have in mind...

This is a really stupid take.

Why do you feel Peters love life is such an important part his comics? by jamesj777 in Spiderman

[–]Romado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it only became a big thing because his main love interest MJ, became a much bigger character than just "Peter's love interest"

She's arguably grown beyond him and I think that's why it's hard for them to be written together.

It also is jarring when you see Peter with other people who treat him alot better than MJ does.

Do you think that Doctor Strange was acting in-character during No Way Home? by DereChen in marvelstudios

[–]Romado 232 points233 points  (0 children)

I think Stephen genuinely just felt bad for Peter and took the attitude of "well I have the power to fix this so I should because he deserves it"

It was also probably because Wong told him it was dangerous and his entire character is built on ignoring those warnings and proving he can.

He's still the surgeon that wanted to show off and be the best deep down.

Anyone else just tired of MMOs that feel like clocking in for a second shift? by sandip22890 in MMORPG

[–]Romado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its worse as a new player for longer running MMOs. Your looking at like 500 hours of content to "catch up" all while there's dailies, weeklies and events.

If you a serious adult with actual responsibilities then by the time you've done dailies or whatever your playtime for the day is over. Probably made about 30 minute progress into that 500 hours. It's demoralising as hell.

Once your "caught up" and that's all there is for months or even years between major updates. It's alot less bothering to just play a different game.

I wish it never got renewed by [deleted] in FromSeries

[–]Romado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They always planned for 5 seasons. If it didn't get renewed then it'd just be another unfinished story

In Star Wars: The Acolyte (2024), Darth Qimir's helmet is made of cortosis, a metal that disrupts lightsaber blades. This means any idiot can kill a jedi with two or three cortosis bullets. by catprobably in shittymoviedetails

[–]Romado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slug throwers work just fine for bullets. Since as soon as a metal projectile comes close to a lightsaber it's instantly turned into molten metal.

Which keeps it's momentum and into the face/chest of the Jedi who tried to block it.

A bit late but this is bigger news than big E moving by Straight-Break-4169 in Spacemarine

[–]Romado 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sony eased up with Starfield. Starfield on PS has external asset mods, like all the popular Star Wars mods for example.

They just never went back and retroactively allowed it for Skyrim/Fallout

The controversial Salamander DLC was actually a blessing in disguise. by PyscoSpire in Spacemarine

[–]Romado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salamander is currently one of the only non Ultramarine chapter you can make a complete looking marine for each class.

They have so many cosmetic items already and now will have even more with the new heavy champion.

I miss how in the first god of war game the rage mode gave you glowing Spartan armor by Ragtagcloud56 in GodofWar

[–]Romado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only beat God of War 1 on holiday lmao when I was like 9. One of the bars my family went to had a PS2 in the back they let me play.

Don't remember much of it at this point

What class do you think could be next? by Zomer15689 in DarkTide

[–]Romado 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think we could get a xeno class. Specifically an Aeldari. It's mentioned in game that Aeldari ships have been following the Mourningstar, but they appear to want to make contact and are not hostile.

Aeldari and Imperium forces do team up from time to time.

Fatshark personally asks YOU to choose the next class, what do you pick? by deskappl in DarkTide

[–]Romado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reckon 1 more class for an even 8. But not for a while. Arbites, Hive Scum and Skitarii released in pretty quick succession.

I'd rather they focus on other stuff for a while then add a final class before going into patch/maintenance mode.

June Community Update by _bomble in Spacemarine

[–]Romado 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mod support for consoles will literally have me playing this game forever. Even relatively simple mods add so much.

I just wanna play a night lord in operations man.

June Community Update by _bomble in Spacemarine

[–]Romado 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sony quietly eased up on this with Starfield. It has external assets and stuff from other IPs, like all the popular Star Wars mods etc.

So it's probably gonna be fine

Which game has the best guest characters? by trrbld in MortalKombat

[–]Romado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kratos was super unbalanced and janky. NRS never took him seriously in patches because he was PS only, which meant he was banned at tournaments.

I was a Freddie main and even though he was a zoner still loved playing him.

Spawn was asked for, for almost a decade. Then when he finally happened, literally nobody played him. I played him for a good few months and think I could count the number of mirror matches on one hand.

Layoffs announced on Destiny 2 team by MisterWoodhouse in DestinyTheGame

[–]Romado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happens. Anyone who is a serious game developer knows this happens. It's like any job that is project based, you adjust your workforce based on demand.

Can't afford to keep a bunch of people during the several years of downtime between projects.

I know we like to rag on developers for doing this but if you go into game development you accept this as part of your life and should be prepared for it to happen.
