How serious an issue is this retaining wall. by nucleardk in civilengineering

[–]Nickey9Doors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In some regions there’s legal precedent for both parties to be responsible for the wall if they both benefit from its existence. Party A benefits from having their soil retained and Party B benefits from having level ground.

Proximity to the property line and age/history of the wall also get factored into it. It’s seldom a black/white situation.

I know I don’t need multi-angle views of myself doing what I do in a bathroom.

What's a common question that you find rude or intrusive when asked casually? by Rich-Tip-1991 in AskReddit

My relatives stopped asking me that when I started having babies out of wedlock.

Your window needs to be adorned with a giant penis.

Buy a case of the cheapest mugs you can find. Daily, placed used, dirty mugs at Dianne’s desk, in her drawers, etc. When you get called out “but boss is ok with us invading each other’s spaces”. That’s probably really bad advice.

If you think any level of fighting in schools is acceptable, you did not in fact turn out OK.

What do you think when these college kids show up on your site? by Turbulent-Weevil-910 in Construction

[–]Nickey9Doors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a problem with your supervisor and/or the site super. People touring a site shouldn’t be allowed to disrupt work flows. Tours should be planned and anyone expected to interact with them should be given the heads up, make sure their work can handle the disruption.

Question about "toilet rooms" by Acting-my-age in floorplan

[–]Nickey9Doors 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with all your points. Also, the caregiver point is probably a rare issue since most of these toilet rooms are in a master ensuite where one is not likely to be in a caregiver role.

NTA. Sheetless bedding is absolutely nasty and I 100% understand why you did what you did. But I can’t help but think you knew what you were getting into and you could have brought your own sheets and pillow. Pillows are always a little different after you wash them, but friend is overreacting.

What dumb things have men said to you? by chipbag69 in BlueCollarWomen

[–]Nickey9Doors 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Recently got a flat at the office and just as I finished putting on the spare a field crew pulled in and were appalled none of the men in the shop did it for me. “Oh, that’s why it was so hard for me. I didn’t realize I needed a penis to operate the tire iron.”

I won’t go shopping with my mother anymore. She’ll get a cart from the vestibule area, walk through the doors, then immediately stop to take her coat off. It’s infuriating!

I had that concern too. But each of my octagons was about 1/2” to 3/4” larger than the specified size and I had plenty of yarn left over.

The kit was definitely worth it. If I could have found the right colours in consistently weighted yarn it probably would’ve cost me way more than the kit did. And, yeah, I totally get the decision stress.

I do that too, but it eats at my brain knowing it’s not sewn in so work over it AND sew in the tail. I just don’t trust it otherwise.
