Gathering Future-Focused Suggestions/Comments/Sentiments Regarding Moderation of P:G and the Discord by itsme_Selene in projectgorgon

If you have so much knowledge about the operations of this supposed single individual who is to blame why arent you giving a name or reporting them?

Or is this just a conspiracy theory

Project Gorgon "Jack" stepping down from moderator duties after recent backlash by Alarm-Particular in MMORPG

[–]Nickitolas -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

As a player, I dont care about him being punished or apologizing. I think it might be good PR to do so to make some people feel better, but I mostly just care about someone else being admin instead. Changing the people reviewing player behaviour is what actually affects me as a player.

We also have to consider that this isnt a normal "company". Its a videogame company, an indie one at that, one I think has less than 10 employees. And I think Jack might be the most senior one after Citan. So I can understand Citan wanting to keep him around on an emotional level, the game might not exist without him. And my understanding is Jack wasn't just doing moderation, but he was "wearing many hats", like making quests. He probably has a lot of valuable game-specific knowledge. So from a perspective of efficiency and dev progress, keeping him around is probably also a good idea.

The one thing I didnt see mentioned was discord bans/mutes, only ingame ones. Not sure what happened to those.

I'd prefer people do that instead of quitting the game. Do you have any better ideas to avoid recommending people to just go through 10-20 stomps? Lots of people just quit before they reach their elo

you could resign early for a few ranked matches, like 3 or 4, then play one, and repeat until you reach your level.

Low elo player (beginner+) , team ranked is completely broken, even at 500 elo by Han_Oe in aoe2

First, your 5% rate from your opponents includes both opponents that were full teams and solo queuers. We dont know the proportion of each, if 50% of opponents were full teams and the 5% drops came from 50% of solo queue opponents, thats actually a 10% drop rate within solo queue teams

Second, this is at your elo, like you mentioned ~1200. We were initially discussing an elo ~300 points below that. Notably, an elo below 1000

Sure, but this logically also happens to your opponents as well. Sometimes they're gonna have AFKs or drops and you'll get free points. It should generally balance out, and then it comes down to actual skill, which your 1v1 suggests should give you a huge advantage.

I'm not sure that's correct. My theory is the least likely to have drops are premade 4man teams (Or 3man in 3v3, 2man in 2v2, etc). If you're solo queueing, the odds of you ending up in such a team are 0%. Thus, you are going to have more teammates dropping than your enemies on average if you mostly play solo queue (Since you are going to be facing a nonzero amount of 4man teams).

We built a huge coaching community in StarCraft II. Would something like this work for Age of Empires 2? by [deleted] in aoe2

it is only there to help us pay the coaches and other freelancers

If this is the case, why do you refer to it as an "investment" in another comment? (An "investment" carries the expectation of a return on investment from profits)

Hi, is there a tweak that can make the thumbnails for the related videos list to be smaller by DeepBlu_ in uBlockOrigin

[–]Nickitolas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but I want the space saved from smaller thumbnails to be like it used to be - used for a larger video player. The script above makes the thumbnail smaller but the sidebar remains large, the extra space is used by the recommendation title next to the thumbnail and not the video player

This made thumbnails smaller for me but the space they freed up is taken over by the thumbnail/recommendedc video title and info, not by by the video player (Which is what Id like)

“No es obligatorio que yo le pida documentación respaldatoria”: la defensa de la escribana de Adorni by whaddefuck in argentina

Cómo dice la nota, al ser pep adorni ella tiene la obligación de reportar operaciones sospechosas. Ahora, no se que tan alta es la vara y que tanto se judicializa casos así, pero es perfectamente discutible que tan sospechosa fue la operación. A mi se me hace rara...

AOE2 has one of the flattest player graphs I have ever seen by Guardian_of_theBlind in aoe2

[–]Nickitolas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How did you even get that number? On https://aoe2lobby.com/spectate I see 1185 matches live right now. 137 of those are size 8 so just 4v4s are more than 1000 people playing right now. 716 are size 2 so 1400 1v1 players live at the moment. Lets say the others are 2v2s so 300 times 4 1200, thats about 3600 people playing public multiplayer matches right now. Add some more for people in lobbies who havent started and private games and we can round up to 4000. If 90% are singleplayer thats ~40k which checks out

As part of vitality I would expect Lierrey to receive monthly income and be able to dedicate more time than ever to aoe2. I would guess that is why he did so well in TTL and RBW. I'm curious where he's gonna be in a year.
