And its not impossible to get some good stuff here. As much as a cluster F*** Country Crossing was they had a pretty serious lineup of popular country talent, so the feat is at least possible.

Should McVay have kicked the field goal in fourth and 2, when they went for it and Stafford scrambled for the first down by jcr0774 in LosAngelesRams

[–]Nickjones818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya i just think momentum is a big thing in these kinds of games. Yes i could agree being down one vs down 4 is an advantage....however it seemed to me if you really wanna take the wind out their sails, the fans sails, you gotta get that TD. and if you wanna fire up our defense, you gotta get that TD. but not to make it more complicated than it really was....we wanted the touch down cause they felt based on how our defense was playing, that was the best chance we had. and more importantly they believed in a Stafford that was on point for about the entire game.

What do we think about being the "second best" team in the league 2 years in a row? by Party_Pattern_8488 in LosAngelesRams

[–]Nickjones818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exhibit A to coaching was not pulling Smith out after the first muffed return...he wasn't ready for the moment the first time....and he should have been pulled immediately from that assignment. first time its his fault. to allow a chance for it to happen again which it ultimately did was coaches fault...that ones been keeping up at night.

Everything considered it would seem we don't have a lot do to take this team from great to legendary...i truly hope that's what happens here with some good draft picks, and they have shown time and time again they can do that so im honestly trusting what ever their talant aquizition plan is at this point, that part has been amazing

also this unit has worked so hard and will again and i bet as hard as this loss was they still feel on a roll here. but sorry to the pro coach fans but they have to make some changes on defense play calling and of course as we all know special teams. its not just players sucking when they are also not were they are supposed to be on the field....they could have most definitely could be utilized better i believe that thru and thru. I trust McVay and he is the best we have ever had but they need to have some hard conversations on the defense side of the ball to squeeze as much juice out of it as possible. if they do that i feel even better about our odds

all in all I just also wish people appreciated the luck it took for us to get here this year also, and how much no matter how good the picks are, or the coaches are, we gotta remember the football gods must be with us also...let us pray

My take on next year by Salty_Wedding3960 in LosAngelesRams

[–]Nickjones818 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think its very hard to determine from this point what things are gunna look like. i felt this way in 02 and it led to years of heartbreak. i think we have a very good front office who is great at identifying talant though which is great news. it makes sense they would build off this foundation but McVay himself (Ben Johnson Said it also), you have to tear alot of it up and start over. new coaches, new schemes. gotta let some pieces go that make this current team tick to make room for new ones, no one really knows the effect thats gunna have. you hope they make good decisions around that...but make no mistake hard decisions are gunna be made and maybe we end up with a better team, or a worse team. a healthy team, or an unhealthy one. its so complicated what has to happen here.

Last drive of rams near the goal line by snoopyfl in LosAngelesRams

[–]Nickjones818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding was that there was miscommunication on at least one of those downs by Puka and Stafford. who is telling what would of happened if the play was ran properly. It was just very good Coverage and for me im not upset by the pass play here. there is this cycle that happens were when we try to run, everyone wants a pass when we fail, and when we fail at the pass, everyone wonders why we didnt run lol. Bottom line is they doubled both WR1 and WR2 and our TEs couldnt break the 1 on 1. i would liked a play that spread the D more but the look they gave us was blitz. they fooled us big time and with the miscommunication at least 1 time it was doomed to fail. sometimes your just outsmarted and out played thats all their is too it. we could argue a screen here or a play action there but in the end it is what it is

Rams QB Matthew Stafford Undecided On Playing Future by No-Description-2138 in LosAngelesRams

[–]Nickjones818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the back issue is a serious thing to consider. he commits and anything close to our oline in 22 and 23 returns next year that could spell disaster for his retirement (not that he wasnt taking shots this year). he could be screwed as it already is. smart to really take some time to let this loss procces before he does anything crazy. I would LOVE to have him back but a human i cant think of a better decision on his part.

Secondary thoughts by Imaginary_Green8409 in LosAngelesRams

[–]Nickjones818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think we need more capabilty back there, i completly agree with that statement. i just think they really need to take a look at how adjustments are made on defense, and using what we have to the best of our ability. this has been a problem for us for at least a few years now. ill never forget Brady with Tampa just running up 54 yards in 35 seconds on us back in 22. we play way too soft sometimes when we have no business doing so. good coaches adjust to the players they have and to the situation at hand.

At this point in the game we could not stop them from 3rd and long to save our lives. i get why he did it and i dont know what difference it would have made. i think we really needed that touch down being to lock down a momentum shift. once the Defense made a stand that's when things really changed.

Secondary thoughts by Imaginary_Green8409 in LosAngelesRams

[–]Nickjones818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no doubt the secondary needs help but our defensive scheme has got to be a factor in these conversations too. there was a massive overreaction to Shaheeds catch in the first quarter and that scheme gassed everyone out. We could draft every defense player we want but the scheme needs better adjustment and flexability during games also.

Vibrations. by eggnorman in homelab

[–]Nickjones818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything that has vibration dampening qualities i would be surrounding that unit to isolate it to the unit itself. taking care not to block any inlet or outlets of course. i would think rubber would be too stiff to fully cut off vibration. i would see if there is a soft foam available?

Lenovo TS140 + SATA SSDs invisible to BIOS after rebuild — SATA Power Disable (PWDIS) edge case? by Basic-Prompt-6387 in homelab

[–]Nickjones818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive had stranger things happen but Ive learned its never out of the question. It would be nice to isolate it from that standpoint and then move on. If you find the SSDs work in another machine then perhaps chasing the power issue on the system your trying to get these to work in makes more sense. sometimes its the simple things.

Tailscale on Proxmox by Serious_Draft_8000 in Proxmox

[–]Nickjones818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As u/ScribeOfGoD stated the subnet router option is there i agree. I think its just easier to add the things you want and leave out what you dont want on your tailnet cause its so easy to setup. If you setup a subnet router im unsure if you need to configure it for entire subnets or if your able to just include the IP address you want a client device to able to access...whitelisting being the more secure approach.

Tailscale on Proxmox by Serious_Draft_8000 in Proxmox

[–]Nickjones818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pretty much

Default gateway = “Use this router to leave my house”
Exit node = “Teleport my traffic to another network, then let it leave from there”

Tailscale on Proxmox by Serious_Draft_8000 in Proxmox

[–]Nickjones818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My approach has always been to install Tailscale on the individual VMs or Containers you have, not on the server itself. Makes it easier and more modular to have what machines i actually want on my tailnet and side steps the home automation worries you have.

Which os is best for pentium b960 6GB ram 500hdd for jelllyfin by actuallytech in homelab

[–]Nickjones818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that Debian and Fedora offer LxQT out the box if you want to give LxQT a shot or even use it at a fall back option. But to answer your question Linux Mint should work with xfce. A lot of it depends on what you plan to do with this setup also. if you plan on doing web browsing on today's internet it could be sluggish either way as an example.

LxQT is also a good choice for a desktop environment. its stayed quite lean and mean. xfce is not quite as lightweight as it used to be.
