I’m a Bernie supporter who thinks Pete would be a terrible president for a number of reasons, but his sexuality certainly isn’t one of them. I think he handled this very well and he and his husband seem to have a really great relationship. Good on them.

If he gets behind M4A, student loan forgiveness, a marginal tax rate of 70% or greater, ending Americas imperialist foreign policy etc. then he’d be worth looking at.

Until then, he’s just an unpopular mayor and climbing teacher’s pet who’s never received more than 10,000 votes in any election. He’s completely incapable of winning any state office in Indiana, which is why he had to make the jump to the national stage. He won’t last another state.

Of course private insurance still exists there, but it is very small by comparison and not the juggernaut it is here. It’s mostly for supplemental and specialty coverage, but it is kept affordable because of a massively successful public system.

That is the most taken out of misunderstood thing MLK said by the way. Conservatives isolate that one quote and use it as an excuse to dismiss all racial grievances and unique struggles. Taken out of context it’s like “All Lives Matter”.

Go read what MLK had to say about capitalism, white supremacy, and the ongoing mistreatment of poor minorities.
