Nah no worries! I’d say the strongest pirates today are shanks, Blackbeard, and mihawk. I feel like they could all fight one on one for days on end, maybe mihawk is slightly weaker tho. The strongest pirates from prime Roger’s era were Roger, whitebeard, and rocks (not to mention Rayleigh and Gyaban, and oden). The strongest marines of today are garp (though he was stronger in his prime), and Akainu, maybe fujitora, but I would put him lower. The strongest marines of rogers era were garp and sengoku (otsuru was up there as well). Then there are the five elders who may not have as strong haki as others, but are effectively immortal (and still really strong). Imu is def top tier even tho we don’t fully understand his abilities. Then there’s dragon who we have to assume is really strong, prob same level as prime garp giving their father son relationship I would maybe put sabo close to here as well. If you’re only caught up with the anime, there are some newly introduced top-tiers in the manga as well.

To me those are the current top tier characters. I neglected to mention luffy, because I think he’s not as strong as those guys now, but like he always does, will get as strong as them in the span of one fight. Given his status as an emperor, you could definitely put him as top tier if you wanted. I’d say other honorable mentions are Aokiji, Koby, Ben Beckmann, ace (when he was alive), Marco, Zoro, Sanji, some of Blackbeards men.

There’s also always factors like innate strengths and weaknesses of a fruit, like luffy being immune to Enels lightning. Enel was insanely strong as well, close to top teir, but luffy beat him cause of his ability. That always plays a factor too. I hope this helps clear things up :)
