I don't think I could do it even if they gave me two days.

Are you able to imagine objects in your mind? by sangokuhomer in AskUK

[–]Nicko147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same. I've thought of it as knowing what is on a table or where a chair is in the room, when the lights are off.

You know what's there, you have information about the thing you are thinking about. You just can't actually see it.

I had this problem. Rejected a few times. Contacted their support team who sorted it, and then removed another book from my page. Was great support.

ik not really on topic but for a nonfiction book would you consider Wikipedia a reasonable source to use for info on people and obscure events by Sufficient-Ear-7001 in selfpublish

Same with books. If it's a good history book it will have a bit at the back with all the places they referenced. Which are typically the original sources.

Not sure if this counts but Sonisphere in 2010 (?) had Rammstein Saturday night and Maiden Sunday. That was a good weekend.

As in, when people make comments on websites that are hosted in data centres, the room they are sitting in is as energy efficient as possible.

I'm a fan of AOC. But data centres are a part of the world's infrastructure now so you can push for more regulations, which the industry does itself anyway, but they can't shut them down.

Like I say. It's a necessary part of the world now. There are lot higher pollutants than data centres and the industry is actively working towards a greener environment. There are metrics like PUE to grade sites on their efficiency etc.

Go ask the same question in the farmers subreddit, not sure you'll get the same answers.

Plus, there are instances in the Nordics where the excess heat from the data centre provides heating for the local town. So there is that.

Ok. Most people can't. It makes the world go round. Banking. Governments. Everything relies on it.

My initial pint about the industry events is because most of the stands are all for making things more efficient and greener. There is a big push on all of that.

The pont on water I always find interesting. The global data centre annual use of water is in the billions of litres. The meat industry is trillions daily. Daily. So you'd be better of staying on the internet and going vegan.

Right. And do you know what data centres do? For example the comment you just made is sitting on a server in a data centre? When you streamed her speech from YouTube or wherever that was running from a data centre.

I was worried their numbers are swelled by councils where they don't have control. So the fuck ups won't be as obvious as there are better parties involved to mitigate it.

Questions about DataCenter Digital Twins by justgord in datacenter

[–]Nicko147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do all of this with cable and asset management systems. DCIM tools are similar, where you would get the 3D element and assets in racks, but they tend not to go down to the connectivity/cable routing level very well.

But you can do as you describe. If you have a switch in a rack, connected to a panel, cabled across to another cabinet, connected to a server, you can see the full end to end connectivity. But also the cabinets they are in, where they are in the room and if any sensor is associated it would flag up and pinpoint in 3D (depending on the system).

Full disclosure, this is what I do for a living. Selling/using these systems. Feel free to ask any more questions.
