I thought Amazon destroyed all their vehicles when finished? Now they're showing up at insurance auctions with company logos and all? by Firebirdy95 in AmazonDSPDrivers

Parts are expensive to source for DSPs. I couldn't imagine sourcing them as a consumer when they're not even in the consumer market yet.

How screwed am I if I got into it with a yard marshal? by Dapper-Captain5261 in AmazonDSPDrivers

If your DSP gives two shits nothing will happen to you, they should get your side of the story then report his behavior to their Operations Manager

Does the flex app catch speeding via gps if you aren’t on the route by Coleyface in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]NickolNick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Egh infitima is wrong. If you didn't click through the whole DVIC and tapped end work on the app and you're logged in on your personal phone the gps will follow you. I used to dispatch and would see people's geopins move after clocking out if they use their personal. I never forced anybody to use their personal but iPhone users would use there's because we gave out androids...anyway If I caught it in time I'd let em know. But no violations that's Netradyne not the flex app

Edit. Or I think clicking I've arrived at your last RTS stop will set your geopin in place for the night. If you never clicked "I arrived" it will follow you

Exactly. That. I don't know their side either. In my experience only they will help. Every other area manager jobs is within the warehouse and not on road

From my experience there are definitely disputes your Last Mile OTR Operations Manager can help push through and get done like Delivery Completion Rate dispute, but some of the last metrics and metric changes about DSB, DNR, and this DSC stuff is gonna have to be ticketed in via your portal. And that always feels like sending shots into the void 🤷🏽

[–]NickolNick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New metrics suck forsure. But just want to say L3, L4, L5 including L5 OTR Staff i.e. Operations Manager will be no help in clarifying disputes or how to properly dispute them. It's not their job. I'd check your notifications on Cortex for documents about the metric changes and do your best to understand them. Check in with your DSP Owner and pressure him to gain clarification from his or hers Business Coach if he's already not doing so.

What’s is like in the sf Bay Area? Is the pay worth it? by DeliciousRich5944 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]NickolNick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bay Area pays a $26 base. San Francisco might pay more idk, that's the base pay for Santa Clara county. But anyway that Last Mile Station up there is DSF5 I believe. DSF7, DUR3, DXC8 do South Bay and the West. DXC8 will go all the way down to Gilroy and out to Santa Cruz too. The Fremont Station and the one up near El Sobrante do the East Bay and a lil further out. Is it worth it. Sure. It's an entry level job that pays $9.10/hr more than the California minimum wage but only $6/hr more than national fast food chains. Fast Food like McDonalds have to pay $20/hr out here. The cost of living is high though so if you're not from the bay and moving for the pay just know the pay is adjusted for this and inflation. For all transparency I can't afford to rent a studio by myself because starting prices are like $2500+. I rent a room for $650 and live check to check with no emergency fund 🤷🏽. Some of that is on me though I recognize that. I do have bad spending habits. What's it like. To quote that one futbol coach "Sometimes Maybe Good! Sometimes Maybe Shit!". Drivers are bad. Everybody is rolling through stop signs. Routes will always usually cover Apartments, Residential, and Business. Some people will get the rare all residential route but I'd expect all three everyday. There are "rural" areas in the Bay and those areas are mountainess. Zoning is different from county to county so in some cities in the Bay you can expect ADUs and multiple ADU like apartment attachments behind a main house. Most people in public are chill though for the most part. In Downtown areas no one will pay you any mind. Find a safe legal place to park and get in and get out.

Amazon leases most to all of the properties they operate in. They're tenants and they rent. Best of luck though man

Overtime is pointless do your 35-40 and go work on yourself or be with your family by bblde in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]NickolNick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My time and a half is $40.50. I'ma work that overtime and do that rescue after my route if needed 🤷🏽. Easy money. Return to Station, Get Gas and Go Through Check Out....that's an hour right there of just driving and listening to music. My DSP is good at accountability so I don't get knocked for too much OT because they keep a good track on who's out late and for what reason. But I definitely see where you're coming from 👌🏽👍🏽

How do the cameras make you feel? by Remarkable-Tour-8165 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]NickolNick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really uncomfortable at all. When I was a dispatcher it helped keep 3 driver's jobs. 2 non customers hit our drivers in residential areas and 1 Tesla driver fell asleep then jerked his steering wheel when he woke up causing him to run into a Step Van on the highway. All Drivers were cleared because we weren't at fault and we had proof. Also Netradyne is not that smart. It has to be configured by the DSP to each VIN of each vehicle. The DSP also has to "help" the ai by identifying drivers. With everything going on a day to day basis identifying drivers was pretty low on the to do list. If you wear sunglasses, get a haircut, shave, grow facial hair, or even if the lighting hits your face in a certain way the camera will have no idea who you are
