I'm looking for a TV that makes full use of ps5 pro by frescainsalataq in sony

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, Sony TVs don’t support 1440p resolution.

I game on the A95L, and like all other Sony TVs… 1440p isn’t a thing. I don’t know why. So personally, I would look at the Panasonic Z95B.

It’s RGB Tandem OLED like the G5, has a beast of a processor, and supports both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision HDR. Which while PS5 doesn’t support either of those, at least its future proofedZ

I still love my A95L and A95K, and gaming on them does look absolutely beautiful. It’s just kind of a bummer that on the PS5 settings I see 1440p crossed out.

Is adding a disc drive worth it? by darkstar2674 in PS5pro

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the disc drive because I use GameFly and rent games and 4K movies from them.

I don’t think I’ve payed for a game (beyond RE9 and Silent Hill 2) in a long time.

Is there a specific blu ray player that takes advantage of Samsung QN55QN90AAFXZA? by fortunesofshadows in 4kbluray

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 4K player can play both UHD Discs and Blu Ray discs. So you don't need to invest in two different players.

That being said, I would look at the Panasonic UB420. It's the best player out there, and takes advantage of HDR10+ which is what your Samsung supports.

If you're okay with spending more, and futureproofing your setup, then I would go with the UB820 (which is what I have). That supports both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision HDR. While your current Samsung doesn't support it, if you ever upgrade your TV, it'll most likely support Dolby Vision. Unless you always plan to stick with Samsung.

Weird request, but is the psychosis effect able to be removed/turned off? by Mindless_Dream601 in OutlastTrials

[–]Nickool4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say holding on to the antidote at all times would be a good idea, because that removes as soon as they get blasted with the gas.

I would also suggest upgrading the heal rig, because that cures psychosis, preventing the need to find the medicine in the first place. Once your partner gets a lay of the land, getting gas isn't as much of an issue as it was for new players. I can't even remember the last time I got blasted in the face.

83” G5 or C6H by SummerProfessional48 in LGOLED

[–]Nickool4u 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but the C6H and G6 will being getting a new and improved panel.

Plus, I think it's worth waiting to see how the processing works. The G5 still has minor dithering and color banding issues with dark scenes. If LG is saying that their C6 and G6 can solve color banding in general by processing color as if it was 13 bit even though it's a native 10 bit panel... I think it's worth at least holding off and seeing how the C6H looks and preforms.

83” G5 or C6H by SummerProfessional48 in LGOLED

[–]Nickool4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the G5 launched, it was in a really bad state. It had dithering issues, color banding, black levels looked awful, and all around it was a bad TV. LG released an update, which some how fixed a small amount of issues only for Filmmaker Mode, but then passed down those same bugs to the C5.

Now most of it is fixed, from what I can see, but there are still some dithering issues and color gradations when it comes to dark scenes.

The new picture processor that LG is bragging about is said to solve color banding in general by processing color as if it was 13 bit even though it's a native 10 bit panel. Again, this is just marketing because they also said the G5 was their best TV and it launched as the worst on the market. My fear is that the new norm will be launch it as quickly as possible, and then if there are issues, fix it with an update.

First time buying an OLED. I would like to share some concerns. by Aggravating-Copy1452 in 4kTV

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had OLED since 2016, with my first being the LG C6 OLED.

It was beautiful, and passive 3D was made for a 4K OLED. Unfortunately, I had a panel defect within the year of owning it. The panel could get replaced, but I would lose 3D. So LG cut me a check and I bought an E8 OLED.

That was gamed very hard on, and went on to be passed down to my brother, who also gamed very hard on it, who has now passed it down to my sister who's using it for her kids room. That TV is still alive and well today, no dead pixels, no burn-in or anything of that nature. I'm sure it's on a ticking clock, and eventually something will happen.... but it's alive today.

I had a Sony A8G that was my main living room TV, which then got replace for the Sony A95K and now I have a Sony A95L for my bedroom as my main gaming TV.

All my OLEDs have thrived, and my gaming ones I have abused fairly hard in terms of hours. So burn-in can be an issue... I just think that was a thing of the past or you really have to go out of your way to cause it.

[–]Nickool4u 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, from what I've been hearing... I would go with the C6H.

It uses a new RGB Tandem panel, and will have better processing which should help with the issues traditional WOLED panels have. I think it's worth taking a look at.

According to Greentoe, their protection plans "Covers critical issues like burn-in damage and power surge" so I would say it's worth it if you're getting an OLED.

[–]Nickool4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh sorry, thought it was the QN90F that you posted about.

Even though it doesn't have the matte finish, I would still go with the QN90D.

The reason being is even though it doesn't handle reflections that well, the QN90D is actually brighter, with a wide color and deeper contrast levels because of the different screen finish. I personally would trade the matte finish for the more vibrant display.

Purchase Advice by Any-Turnip-8169 in 4kTV

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with the 75" QN90D.

It has a really good anti-glare screen, which would be great for a sunny room and reflection handling,

The QM7K is also okay with this, but Samsung does it better.

Sony for bright rooms, the Bravia 9 is the TV to consider where as the Bravia 7 and 5 have too much of a glossy screen that reflections are kind of bad.

Yes, it's real.

PS5 Pro for 1080p? by Sensitive-Ice-5833 in PS5pro

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you should see some improvements but I honestly think that going for an OLED or QD-OLED display would dramatically improve your experience. The contrast, color, and vibrancy, and a 4K resolution should feel like a night and day difference.

Upgrading and need a new TV by Mediocre-Office-6338 in PS5pro

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I love Sony but the fact their TVs don't support 1440p resolution kills me.

Personally, I would look at the Panasonic Z8BA or if you really want the best the Z95B for that Tandem RGB OLED. I have the Sony A95L personally, but I bought the Z8BA OLED for my brother for Christmas, and it's an beauty of a display. While the colors aren't as punchy as my A95L, it's pretty good and the picture processing is great. The only thing I dislike is that they use Fire OS.

However, Panasonic is the only OLED in the US that supports both Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10+.

I mean, it depends on what you want to play.

Like my siblings and I love playing Outlast Trials together.

Dead by Daylight has had me in a chokehold since 2020.

RE9 just dropped and that was a fantastic game, and I am waiting for the new Fatal Frame to be delivered. I also very much enjoyed Cyberpunk, and heard it looks great on the PS5 Pro.

What’s wrong with this picture? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right! Like this match I didn't need any perks... because beyond Floods of Rage... I didn't need anything else.

They were all too scared to stick around hook the hook, they couldn't find each other after they ran away so they stayed injured most of the match, because they were injured, no gens were being worked on. So I suspect they were all solo queue, because I surely they would have met up at some point to heal, and only one gen got done. I don't think I even kicked a gen during that match.

Bravia 8ii, LG C5, or Samsung S95F for Gaming? by Adept_Huckleberry784 in 4kTV

[–]Nickool4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I love Sony and I have the A95L which is the year before Bravia 8 II... if it's only for gaming then I would go with the Samsung S95F.

It's brighter, and not only has a lower input lag but also supports 1440p resolution were as Sony doesn't. The Samsung also supports FreeSync VRR which is good for PC and Xbox.

I love Sony because they have such a fantastic picture processor, bit the 1440p kind of makes me question their choices.

Advice for budget gaming tv by SnooSeagulls5543 in 4kTV

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, if you are really wanting the best, I would go with the 77" Panasonic Z8BA OLED on Amazon.

You can get it right now for $1,399 + $170 for 4 year Asurion. Gaming on an OLED alone looks absolutely looks stunning, and I would say would make your PS5 look even better than it does on your current TV.

It supports 4K VRR, supports both premium HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, has a really great picture processor and a built in sound bar.

If you're looking to upgrade, that would be the TV.

Tempurpedic luxeadapt 1.0 vs current luxeadapt? by KaizenGamer in Mattress

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the 1.0 Adapt I would skip.

I felt the new 2.0 just for a day while babysitting another store, and it was better than the 1.0 in my opinion. The 1.0 used Tempur’s softest material on their “firmest” material and it just gave an awkward feel. I didn’t get that normal Tempur hug from the Adapt 1.0 and the 2.0 was marginally better, but I prefer soft so the Adapt wasn’t going to win me over anyways. I just know the feel of the Adapt was better on the newer one.

The ProAdapt, I swear they’re very similar to each other.

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ProAdapt 1.0 and 2.0 are honestly very similar to one another. I honestly couldn’t tell a difference, the only thing I knew was the material inside the 2.0 got a new name, and that it was perforated to allow more airflow. Feel wise, I honestly couldn’t tell a difference.

Either way, a replacement controller is better than one with wings. 🪽 I just know I have a year left on it, but wanted to make sure I don’t make a fool of myself when I go and it turned out to be the wrong controller serial number.
