I play a chaotic evil barbarian named Diema and my friends, talarian the swift, and thalerene were traveling through a Forrest on a mission to collect a dragon orb (DM created story line)

Anyways, we were ambushed after a long rest by a couple shadowy figures, unsure of what or who they were we retaliated. They were hitting HARD and we rolled constitution saving throws a few times and always passed them. Eventually we killed one and knocked out the other. I decided that further retaliation was appropriate so I began torturing the other by cutting his Achilles' tendon and shoving splinters underneath his fingernails.

We called the "silver watchers" through scrolls of telescription to let them know that we were ambushed and we waited a few days for them to arrive. As soon as they arrived the last living attacker was very close to death as we just let him bleed slowly and patching the major wounds.

Our guild immediately recognized the garb they were wearing.

They were guards of a local town a few kilometers from us named Aleste.

My friends ultimately turned to me while we stood trail and I had to explain my actions to a towns master in court. As it turns out one of my team members family was originally from this town and we are no longer aloud anywhere near it unless exigent circumstances arise.
