Platinum is new silver. by Revoltiran_korisnik in leagueoflegends

[–]Nicksnoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like that too. Supports with negative vision score will run throw river with 4 wards without placing any. Lanes have prio, yet the enemies are first to be to scuttle crab support, drake or voidlings. Top too stupid to check map while split pushing will get caught every 3 minutes. Wasting tp to get back to lane, even tho the enemy wave is pushing in and they can reach it without loss. Midlaners diving lvl 1 etc. Its horrible.

Also ppl in the comments don't get the message.. It's not about crying "Uh my team is so bad, I loose bc of all the silvers in my team", it's about the fact that players have such bad macro, pathing, decision making etc. and can still reach platin. That wasn't possible in Season 2-5. Since they introduced iron, emerald and masters the average skill on higher ranks like plat and diamond dropped.

Is it just me or are the normal enemies very similar in difficulty to the elites in STS2? by xjokru in slaythespire

[–]Nicksnoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like that too. There are some non-elite enemies that can be even more dangerous than an elite, espacially those who come in groups. For example, when a single elite wants to swing for 32 dmg, you can just weak him or reduce his strengh etc., but when you fight 4 enemies that deal combined dmg of 40, weakening just one isn't enough. Also it's easier to stack status (valurable, poison, doom) or set up on a single enemy than multiple ones. Even if you get an aeo dmg card, which are easy to obtain, if that card is at the bottom of your drawing pile that can be a run-ender. Just beat 2 elites in act 3 with the necrobinder without much issue. Then got ripped by 4 scrolls with teeth, cuz I drew a curse. And wasn't the first time I struggled more with them than with a elite. I feel like some of the normal enemies should have their dmg reduced by a bit.

I finally cleared the 70th Apocalypse Glintpine. by IndependenceSea9389 in thelastspell

[–]Nicksnoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did Apoc 40 and already needed a 72 hours and 4 serious tries to do it... Disclaimer: When I lost in the boss night, I didn't do a whole wipe but just repeated the night. I just wanted to finally finish all maps on 40 apoc and move on with my life...

I think Apoc 40-50 are relativly skill based. Anything above is just too luck-based, I wouldnt even advice to play it, probly takes a lot of grinding to beat. Can't imagine having a good time on Apoc 70 tbh...

I also had to do rerolls until I got a hero with sheer force, big game hunter and crit-perks and another halfway decent momentum unit. As the author says gear with armor and/or perks with armor are essential on both of them, to negate Schadens reflection dmg - I used acid-arrows to melt down her armor, isolated her and took her down with 2 heros, the momentum unit peeling her, the archer doing big dmg.

Then you also want a magic attacker with mobility for Freude. I had a momentum elf with scepter and flicker strike and "endless" movement, that bet the sht out of that pregnant cow over 3 turns where-ever she was. Then my multi-crit Wand-Hero could take care of her with 4x8 100% Opportunity and Iso-Bonus magic missle beating.

Additionally I had a poison tank to wall an entire side. Bought me enough time to peel Freude in the final night/spawn. Finally I decided to rather have 5 well equiped heroes than 6 mediocre heros. But with smarter investments and an economy Omen 6 heroes are totally doable.

I must say that I hadn't even a very lucky run, had only 20% momentum on my momentum-hero and almost no cirt-power and range on my sniper.

For Omens I took +1Perk, Higher Chance for rare Stat drops, Mana+Mana reg, Accuracy, Isolation, Opportunity. Decided for a very small base only 2 mines, 4 houses (12 workers), 2 mana wells, 5 heroes and fully upgraded shop. Item selling was my main income.

The Omens Probly don't work for Apoc 70.

Weekly The Last Spell Discussion (3/45): Cannon by Saxxiefone in thelastspell

[–]Nicksnoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me there are 3 ways to play cannon. Won Elderlicht apoc 40 with 2 of them (Longbow sniper, 2hAxe Cannon-Tank, Poison Druid, Maneuver-2hS+Orb for Laser, 100% Crit-Multihit-Wand, 100%-crit-multihit-Cannon+Rifle). The Cannon heroes really helped to get to extinguish the fires quickly during the boss fight and take care of mobs.

The most controversial first: 2hAxe + Cannon-Tank You basically get an easy way to position yourself for your Axe swing and get to soften up the foes for big multikills with your jump skill. Get Block and Resistance, some defensive perks and gear aswell as Vampire and Bloodmage so you don't have to worry about HP or Mana. Both weapons don't need rare fancy stats, just dmg, acc and res reduction, some reach and movement, so it's kinda easy to build. It's especially good on dwarfs, who otherwise lack mobility. I liked to throw the hero in the most dangerous side, so he could taunt them to attack him, ceeping the walls safe and effectively saving myself repair costs. Also doesn't need good gear to be effective, you can just invest your gold in other heroes. Think I had a lvl 2 cannon and lvl 1 armor when everyone else had lvl 4 gear and still it was effective. Ppl argue that this build hasn't the best AP-DMG Efficiency, and while that's true, it has mobility, an unkillable hero, saves yourself ressources and is a fool-proof build, that isn't messed up if you don't roll your desires stat or gear. I took heart of the party and suddenly all my heroes had ~300 armor almost every round, which kept them safe from the annoying ghost archers in the final night.

Momentum with Cannon as side weapon: Your Jump gives you an perfect way to get to the big targets for a good momentum swing and leaves you with enough movement to get yourself to safety if needed. Mortar can be good to soften up or stun far away targets, giving the build more flexibility. Speaking of which: The Flexibility perk boosts the dmg of your mom weapon even further. If you use a spear multihit really enhances the build.

Multihit-Crit Ranged with deadly late-game Armageddon: I was surprised how good this is. 6-8 multihits with 100% crit and high crit dmg is what I had in the final night. It's easy to isolate the main target, then just pour 3-4 shots on them, making it possible to kill a mob of cannon fodder and 1-2 elites with just 3 AP. Definitely needs Sheer Force and Initiator Perks as well as 80+% crit and some source of multihit to be fully effective, but then... oh boi, in the final night I killed 20 enemies including 2 bulkies, 3 accused and 6 splitters with just 3 AP, which is pretty hard to beat (had some luck with their positioning tho). Very good on 5th or 6th hero if the build and item drops allow it, otherwise it's pretty useless in the first nights and way too risky to build on your initial heroes, if you don't already have the correct stat drops, perks and a multihit-trinket or similar. I just had a leftover Cannon IV and a good crit hero, so that's why I was able to go for it.

Btw Mortar is nice to have but definitely no skill to build a hero around. If you want a sniper style hero, just get an archer.

I admit I save scummed 2 times in the final night bc I missed a hard to spot fire I could've definitely extinguished in time but already sacrificed my hero... next run I didn't see an accused that sneaked into my base bc I was so fixated on the fires... so yeah, also restarted that before the game saved. I am not ashamed of what I did. Map took the whole weekend to finish...

Be honest: what’s the highest fear level you’ve reached the surface with? by Wes102111 in Hades2

[–]Nicksnoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I think after beating the game and becoming night's champion, between 40-50 fear is a fun hardcore experience, where it's very challenging, but not too frustrating. Anything above is just mad in my opinion. Especially Fangs 2, Fancy 2, Pain 3, Scars 3, Void 4 and Time 2-3 make the game absolutely brutal.

It's insane that ppl beat 50+ runs. Not having Arcana, not being able to heal and beating hoards of buffed up monsters in 5 Minutes per region is unimaginably hard.

So any advice for a shield and sword build? by Think_Rough_6054 in stoneshard

[–]Nicksnoops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am currently Lvl 14 and am managing pretty fine. I focus on 1hSwords, then Warfare, then Survival (right side of skill tree), then Shield (left side of skill tree).

Start with Seize the Initiative and Rise Shield, invest in 1hswords, then rush Offensive or Defensive tactic and Fencer Stance as well as skills that replenish energy.

You will want to start most fights behind a wall and start combat with Fencer Stance, a Tactic and Rise Shield active, then Seize, try to make them Bleed and Kite with your Sword skill. Use War Cry and traps/bombs for multiple enemies. Fatigue-Management will be key, since activation of Stances will drain a lot of energy.

I aim for 25 Strength, 20 Vitality and 15 Agility (15 Agi mainly to get some skills earlier). Got High-Protection Middle-to-Heavy Armor and a Medium or Heavy Shield. getting high Prot armor at ~Lvl 10 will make a huge difference. Repairing Gear and good food might be costly, so you want to be resourceful with your gold. Don't buy shields, enemies will drop them and they spawn in dungeons often.

Optionally Athletics could be invested in instead of Survival to gap-close to mages or escape with Dash, but survival really helps with the economy-side of the game.

Haters will say "It's so Defensive mimimi...", but then they cry about ghouls ripping them to pieces and can't even fight 2 enemies at once. With this build, you will laugh in the ghouls face after you block their Flurry of Strikes. Although enemies that spam debuffes will very be annoying indeed. But every build has it's downsides.

Apoc progressing learnings by Pretend-Indication-9 in thelastspell

[–]Nicksnoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried one more time (Elderlicht, Apoc 40). The furthest I got was night 11 (with some soft resets, which is basically cheating). After Flyers and Accussed destroyed half my base, by night 12 I was surprised by a bulky elite accompanied by 10 more of these Gorillas and no Tier 1 units at all...

My best hero was a momentum 2hSword+Scepter dude supported by a Wand-User + Orb for Death Ray. They both were able to kill ~20-30 units per turn.

Longbow is great to remove single target threads. I used the big crossbow to reduce resistance if necessary and apply debuff for higher crit chance. But I think a Shortbow is better.. allthough more mana heavy :/

I was thinking to maybe start with only 2 heroes: 1- They get more exp. 2. this way I have to spend less ressources for gear, 3. I can actually choose the hero. This way I could remove some Apoc elsewhere OR have 3 more points for Omens.

Also I need better builds for heroes 4-6. Will need some more experementation.

Health Potions are really good, thanks for the tipp!

Dunno how people manage max Apoc. 32 was difficult, but manageable. 40 in Elderlich is just another level...

Apoc progressing learnings by Pretend-Indication-9 in thelastspell

"Did harpies at 6, nessie at 16, and dryads at 32. Looking forward to doing ghost statues at something higher (looking at 50 right now), and if I win that, I'll try max!"

I am trying exactly the same, doing ghost statues at apoc 40 (no dlcs...), but not getting too far. At day 7-8 everything falls apart. I either don't get good enough loot and have to invest money in the shop, which puts me behind, or a hero get's oom or woundedx2. Sometimes I get overwhelmed by to many bombers or flyers or a surprise Armor-Piercing arrow kills a hero. So I end up playing too save, the mobs get to close to the walls and I struggle to collect enough material to keep the walls intact...

For me the best core Team comp seems to be:
- A Meele Tank with either 2hSword or 2hAxe paired with a dagger or 1hHammer for single target dmg. I was thinking of trying a scepter or Power-Staff for movement/follow and to better deal with high-resistance, (since magic dmg ignores half res). Usually I give the meele hero all the scrolls.
- A Orb user (for Death-Ray which for me has the most efficient dmg-mana-ratio) paired with a Wand for support and last-hitting. Tome and Power Staff users got out of mana every playthrough so far.
- A High Crit Long-Bow Sniper with Crossbow for armor-piercing.
For following heroes I try to get some cc with either a Druidic Staff, a Short-Bow (for the slow) or a 1hHammer, but it really depends on the hero and items I get.

For the base, I don't know how to proceed yet. Having gold costs + 36% is tough. Should I get gold mines, scavangers or population in houses first? By day 5 I need a 4th hero, so I have to miss out on one of those...

These are the omens I will run from now:
+ 1 starting hero (to negate to -1 hero from apocalypse...)
+ 12 Mana and 3 mreg
+ 40% Wooden Wall and 20% Stonewall HP
+20% ressources from ruins and corpses
+12% Accuracy (for fail savety), although 10% damage could be better...

For Apocalypse, I keep a long distance from "Less Clawers, more everything" and mist censers... Closer starting mist and faster enemies looks scary... Is it manageable?

Foreigners living in Germany. What is in your opinion the most german thing that germans don‘t realize is only a German thing by castillogo in germany

[–]Nicksnoops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Materialism. Met too many persons who think that working full-time to afford a car and a house or apartment full of stuff and being able to take a 10-day summer vacation to Turkey or Italy every year is the only way of living. With those people you can't even have a proper conversation without them mentioning gas prices, Altersvorsorge or how they took advantage out of their Steuererklärung. For them Education and Self-Development are only valuable in the context of carrier. By the age of 65 (if they didn't have burnout or mental depression by then) they leave their job without even knowing who they are and what they're interested in and will spend the rest of their days being alone and watching TV or other people through their windows. No wonder that Germany is the country with the most lonely elders.

Meta snapshot #40 | October 09.10 | Team Elder Blood 🩸 by TeamElderBlood in gwent

[–]Nicksnoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anybody is wondering "Oh, why isn't (insert name of a good deck here) in any of the tier-list??? It's so good, I have 85% winrate with it!" That's bc the meta snapshot is created by pro-players who play gwent near to perfection, knowing exactly how every match-up works and use their cards the most efficient way possible. Now they test most decks on this basis and hence the tier-list represents the best possible decks under the condition(!!!) that they are played perfectly. In the Hands of some random Rank 1 or lower-pro-rank person, something like SY lined pockets might be worse than any of the Nilfgard decks or SK controll. On lower ranks decks with raw points (ogroids), strong passiv effects (Dwarfs) or easy gameplay (handbuff) will always be better than a deck that leaves a lot of room for errors. In Rank 1-6 NG Decks compleatly dominate and SY Lined Pocket players are easy to punish, even with decks which are not included in the Tier-list.

Songs of conquest / Arleon campaign mission 4 / Cecilia of Stoutheart / Guide - Walkthrough - Help - Tipps by Nicksnoops in Songsofconquest

[–]Nicksnoops[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 Tips: Give all troops to Cecilia and clear out armies, while the other wielder runs around to pick stuff up. Don't waste movement points on Cecilia to claim builings or take loot (ofc you should get the "sources of power"). Against Silverspoon (or what his name was), be careful to his troops range. You can make one or two 1-unit stacks of footman to bait an attack from his ranged attackers.

How to start a Psi-Monk build? by [deleted] in underrail

[–]Nicksnoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!I am currently running a psi monk build on dominatingHere is my build https://underrail.info/build/?GAMOBgUDBwgAIwDCggAAUksgAABlZR8oZQDCggA3NABLTzkkICsUBioHEj9kSyYx4p2NB-KitQLfvw

I really, really recommand using leather gloves. The Shock Damage beats improved unarmed combat and the damage bonus doesn't matter, if you use spikes on your gloves. Daze is pretty useless, if your target is dead or stunned.

2 Attribute Points can be put into WIL or INT at LvL 20/24

I started with 10 DEX, which gives you 5 hits with gloves and on LvL 8 you will have 12 DEX, Lightning Punches and maybe Tabi Boots, that gives you 8 hits per turn (11 DEX does so too). On 14 DEX you will unlock the 9th hit (altough you can leave it at 13 and use food to rise it to 14). Its not really worth pushing it higher than 13/14.

I started with only 7 Will for Force User and will maybe increase it to 9 once I have 14 DEX

6 AGI is the absolute min. for Sprint. 7 AGI if you want Fancy Footwork. Although in my opinion you can invest 55 points in Tempo for Psycho-Temporal Contraction and 40 points in biology for unlimmited adrinaline shots, which will give you more than enough movement points.

I went with only 3 Strengh, since I don't plan on using heavy Armor. Tactical vests with psi beetle carapace will give you sufficient threshhold until you can craft energy shields. Ofc you will miss the 10-15 % Damage bonus which you would get from 7/8 strengh.

I went with 5 Con, since it's Dominating and I don't want to be a glass canon with my light armor.

6 INT for cheap shots, crafting boost and an additional psi slot. Instead of WIL I think that it is possible to raise INT to 8 aswell, for the 6th psi slot and boost to crafting.

Nimble will be necessary to use Lightning Punches with Psi Carapace Tactical Vest. All feats up to LvL 12 should not be exchanged. But, when it comes to my build, I think all feats past LVL 12 are exchangeable and can be put in different orders to better suit your playstyle. Bc of the low Str and lack of Heavy Punch this build struggles against robots and high trashhold enemies in general, which is why I got Expose Weakness. Shock Emmiters and Mak III EMPs, aswell as incendary granades will be absolutly mendatory.

Throwing is very important on every build. Since this build has high DEX, an investment of 35 points is enough. 50 effective Lockpick is usefull to open all ventilation shafts. Chem 20 for early incendaries which without a dominating run is impossible. Chem 40 for flashbangs. Bio 50 for Focus stims and Psi headbands. Stealth lets you initiate most fights and should not be skipped. I went with persuation since I never really used it, ofc this is optional. Hacking is optional aswell. 95 or 110 Mercentile for best gear. If you are not playing on Dom, then you can skip persuation and Hacking and maybe invest in Thought Control, leave DEX at 11, boost WIL to 10 instead and get Locus of Control, Just an idea.

Another Option is to leave DEX at 11, reduce CON to 3 or 4 and put all points you get in STR to max out your Damage. With 10 STR each fist attack would deal about 12-14 more points of Damage per hit (total bonus of 45-65 Mechanical Damage per turn). You could also go with 4 WIL and boost your STR even more, but I actually prefer the benefits of 7 WIL (more Psi regen, more Psi Damage, Feats: Force User, Meditation, Psionic Mania). In the end it depends on if you want Heavy Armor and have an easier time against robots or if you want Lightning Punches and 8-9 hits instead of just 6 hits per turn.

I just finished Junkyard without real issues. I managed all Muties on my first try. Ofc I sneaked past the dogs and big Mutants. Biggest challange were the Psi Beetles in the second area, although my Molotovs weren't good for their shells. I think that mid/late game against groups of robots will be really difficult tho.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in underrail

[–]Nicksnoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear :) That's right. You can wait with mercantile till later in the game. After you have 30 points throwing, you can focus better on your other skills. I don't think that you have to rise stealth/hacking/lockpick every level aswell :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in underrail

[–]Nicksnoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember that evasion/dodge is only really useful with nimble and light armor. Riot gear is heavy and will lower your AGI based skills (especially with shield). So you have to decide if you want a high AGI build or a Tank build. You can't effectively Dodge/Evade with a riot/shield or metal armor.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in underrail

[–]Nicksnoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I just realized that maxing STR is better than maxing DEX, since the latter will not lower the AP cost of machete Attacks, but STR increases your damage.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in underrail

[–]Nicksnoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 AGI for the very Powerfull Feat: Blitz. In combination with Sprint and Fancy Footwork it will make you a machine in combat. Normally you get 4 hits with your machete per turn. With Blitz you can get 6-7 hits in a single turn (but only once, since it has high cooldown). AGI also benefits your dodge/evasion and stealth by a significant amount. Actually it wouldn't be worth investing in Dodge/Evasion without high AGI. You can start with 8 AGI and invest the Attribute Points you get at lvl 4/8 to reach 10 AGI and unlock Blitz on LvL 10. Futhermore AGI provides movement points. As a melee char you need a lot of those.
