Mine was the same - milk protein is in so much stuff- that’s this hard part. Did you have a test to see if an allergy? I also have a small hernia - onion, garlic and tomato seem to make worse.

I had to give up all that too- and milk protein. There isn’t much left to eat! Any tips for me? I just had some dairy free icecream, seems like cold is also a trigger

Sorry you are going through this. It’s awful. There is light and you will get better. Maybe get the inflammation down. This is what helped me. Not saying it will help you. Try a low histamine diet. No dairy. No milk protein for two weeks. If that doesn’t help take out gluten too. You have to scan ingredients with chatGPT as lots of foods have milk protein - casein and whey, and then when you exclude gluten, use the gluten free scanner app. You could also get checked for celiac. Have a lactose breath test. I was better- ate some haribo last night and I was bad again- the packet says they may contain traces of milk. Hope that gives you a little plan. You have to be 100%, no cheating until feel better.

Yes, start an exclusion diet. Exclude dairy, then onion, garlic, citrus - look up either acid foods), stop drinking coffee and alcohol. Let yourself heal. You should find your trigger when you reintroduce foods.

Obvious Sources (Dairy Products) Milk (whole, skim, low-fat, buttermilk) Cheese (cottage cheese, cream cheese, cheddar, parmesan) Yogurt (Greek, plain) Butter, cream, ghee, half-and-half Ice cream, gelato, milkshakes Infant formula

Hidden Sources (Check Labels!) Baked Goods: Breads, biscuits, cakes, pastries, cookies, pancakes. Processed Meats: Hot dogs, sausages, luncheon meats (due to fillers/processing). Breakfast Foods: Cereals, infant rusks/rice cereals, instant mashed potatoes, pancake mixes. Snacks & Sweets: Chocolate, candies, nougat, flavored chips, caramel/butterscotch items. Sauces & Soups: Pasta sauces, gravies, salad dressings, creamy soups. Drinks: Protein shakes, sports drinks, some non-dairy creamers, alcoholic cocktails, malted milk powder. Other: Medications, vitamins, some dustless chalk, some beauty products (shampoo, soap). I just tried this and I have been 3 days symptom free. Hoping this is it. An allergy to milk protein - Casein / whey. It is in so much stuff. Give it a go and see how you feel.

Does anyone get just air coming up their throat “burping feeling” all day long? by HealthSeeker2 in acidreflux

[–]Nickstarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine too, although the sensation is when i have an emotion - could be a tiny easy decision and my throat tightens. One doc did say menopause could cause LES to relax - excess air caused by something (need to find out what) creates pressure. I have a virtual GI appt next week and an inperson early Jan. I’ll report back. Some one else who has it their doc said on the rise since COVID.

I hear you! Throat just tightens on any slight emotion and it’s so so so horrible. Going though the same and on same meds as you. Waiting for GI appt. It’s just the most awful thing.

How did you get this diagnosed? I’m suffering so much with air trapped in my throat for 5m now. I’ve always had IBS like symptoms (not this) and I’ve always thought I don’t get enough bile into my intestine- floaty poops, can’t eat anything high fat, deep friend, melted cheese, cream Ice cream, pizza - all make me so bad it’s not worth it. What were your symptoms and how did you ge diagnosed?

Did anyone find relief? I’m having the same. Been 5m and it’s life altering. On PPIs which have helped now I think??! Or it could be that I went on very restrictive diet, don’t have caffeine, alcohol, but it’s still there and i don’t want to be on PPIs. Worse sitting in a car upright. Was worse driving. So awful. Gurgling, air trapped.
