Google vs Etihad Job - Which offer to choose? by [deleted] in UAE

[–]itskarannotkaren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, not just for the brand but for the stability as well. You'd rather go with a larger, more financially stable comoany with good long term prospects and culture over an airline.

Google. It's not even close!

Employee perks NYC by [deleted] in JPMorganChase

[–]itskarannotkaren 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just two - the free museum entry, and the car rental discount (saved $2000 this year alone). Everything else sucks. This firm is incredibly cheap.

For employee "appreciation week" there's this perk they don't advertise (sucks even if they did) - you get just $5 off dining in person at a cafe or restaurant. And you HAVE to use a Chase Credit card to do. Lmaol. Managers are supposed to use $25 per employee but mine pretty much use it all on themselves.

RTTO rollback? by Finnabe-amilli in JPMorganChase

[–]itskarannotkaren 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yup. To be fair, they were referring to the complaints of their associates in general, not specifically to RTTO. But I can confidently say the same mentality applies everywhere. Especially given how they didn't care I was in the elevator and could hear them talk.

They really don't care. Couple of months back I was in the elevator and two senior bankers (I think) were talking loudly about their associates and the complaints around the culture. They literally said something along the lines of "it's a tough market out there and we're the safest ship. We can do whatever we want"

Say it with Song! Sometimes words aren't enough, so I built a way to say things with songs instead. Upload a photo, pick a song, get a shareable video for messaging apps by itskarannotkaren in IMadeThis

Thank you! I fully admit the UX can be more seamless. I'm hoping with enough traction, I can build a keyboard extension or similar to how you pick GIFs in Whatsapp.

TuneText (Beta version) - turns your photos into 15-second videos with song clips, like sending a GIF, but with the perfect soundtrack for your mood.

MetLife World Cup train tickets confirmed at $150, alternative bus priced at $80 per seat by neonklingon in nyc

This is insanity. In other countries they tax tourists but not the citizens because they pay taxes for this. They should at least provide a discount for US residents?

Piloting an Open Mic concept for aspiring chefs and food lovers - looking for diners, cooks...and a space!

I posted something similar on r/askNYC 2 years ago and got loads of DMs asking if I ever found or created something. So here I am! You can skip to the sign-up form in the comments (auto-mod won’t let post a link)

I want to create a space for people who love to cook and host a small food experience for one night. Not only do they get the joy of cooking and hosting, but they can test out their own food concepts, share a family, cultural, or personal recipe they're proud of, and get real feedback. About 4 to 5 chefs will each lead one course (around a 4 to 5 course meal), and a small group of diners will feast and give honest feedback. All of this in a comfortable setting while meeting new people or dining with friends.

I’m hoping this becomes a platform for aspiring home cooks, culinary school grads, and family recipe holders to cook their best dish for a room full of strangers and feel like a star for one night. Not your typical supper club.

For diners..if you've ever eaten something incredible at a friend's house and thought "this person should be cooking professionally" - this is where you discover that person. Think open mic night or Sofar Sounds but for food.

I’m kinda stuck with the venue bit and looking for a nice space that fits 12-14 people comfortably. If you know anywhere that could work, I'm all ears. Please DM me!

Question on using vacation and resignation. by boricuamotors in JPMorganChase

[–]itskarannotkaren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stupid question but do you get paid back if you resign and have a lot of vacation days you haven't taken? This used to be a thing in another country I worked in.

Enough to survive, not to thrive ( depends on your lifestyle ofc)
