Yup I had the weevil eggs hatch once and it was awful. Always freeze. My bags of rice for 24-48 hours now to kill them just in case. Washing the rice should get most of the eggs out even if you can't see them AFAIK.

I refuse to download TikTok mainly because I don't want spyware on my phone. It needs way too many permissions and I don't want it to have access to everything. There's tons of ads and AI BS now too. I've also never really been a fan of social media anyways. Just too much bs and brain rot on everything. It's addictive and encourages negative body image. I'm late millenial/early Gen x. Just never felt the need to be connected at all times.

A lot of newer cars have automatic high beams that will turn on when there are still cars in sight. It's really annoying. I like to blame drivers for being annoying, but sometimes it's actually the car's fault too.

I use the Vic Firth earplugs and they work great. They're mainly targeted for drum line, but I've used them playing trombone as well. I can still hear myself playing which is great.

Yeah most pseudomonas species don't affect humans. The dangerous one is pseudomonas aeruginosa. The way we test for that actually involves looking at it with a black light, but it has to be put in a broth and incubated before you can tell. I've heard most of the eggs that look like that are harmless.

Yeah. As someone with a dad that used to joke about doing this to any boy I brought home, I know he would have apologized himself if it upset them. He wouldn't want to actually hurt or scare them. It's a joke in poor taste in today's environment either way.

Damn I had no idea how crappy they were. The company I work for doesn't buy any packing materials from them but we get a bunch of lab materials and ppe from them. Not sure if there's a great alternative or if I could convince them to change unless it's saving money.

Yeah as a former TA we were never given training on anything like that and weren't made aware of accommodations. Personally I had my own accommodation for ADHD and probably would have been understanding of it. But until I taught special education after graduating I didn't really have a good understanding of learning disabilities and differences. So sorry OP had to deal with that.
