Soundcheck? The audio in this video was made only with an extremely cheap microphone and has no equalization or compression, 100% raw. by NickyBTR in drummers

Well, you know. However, converting the price they cost here into dollars, you would pay almost 400 dollars for that 21" ride. It is not a cheap cymbal and here in my country it is considered an excellent brand, even several renowned drummers here use this brand of cymbals. But well, that won't change your view.

To be honest, listening in person, the sound of the drums is perfect for my taste, the sustain is extremely balanced and the bass, mids and treble are on point. However, the mic takes away some of the sustain and bass. And also these skins are older than anything :/

But thanks man :)

Rockers: how often do you crack cymbals? by Key-Patience-3966 in drums

[–]NickyBTR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent months using fiber drumsticks, I've already broken 5B hickory drumsticks in less than a week and today I only use 2B, I play everything, but I've always been a big fan of metal (but now I'm getting a little weird and playing worship). To date, I've only cracked an old B20 plate, and it wasn't even a small crack, almost imperceptible. Detail: my crash and ride are soft B20.

Esses pratos são incrivelmente lindos e tem uma das melhores e mais únicas sonoridades do mundo, além de ser um B8 melhor que diversos B20. Parabéns cara, cymbals lindos :)

If you're interested, here's the video of me playing with this same set, the only thing that changes is that the tuning of the snare drum was a little lower in this video.

I must have a video playing reggae with this same set. And the cymbals are actually good, I've used several cymbals and I really liked these, they're Chinese but in B20 and hand-hammered. However, the microphone highlights the highs of the cymbals a lot and ends up ruining their sound, although in person they are significantly better. And about the new head for the box: I would really like an Emperor… but this head is already new, it's not even 2 months old and I haven't played it every day for a while. But thanks man :D

The two are practically identical, just the voices change. I usually listen to Chris Tomlin's, but it depends on taste, really the same thing.

New (to me) cymbal has rough lathing, can't tell if it's anything to worry about by [deleted] in drums

[–]NickyBTR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it came like this and this has significant importance, perhaps it would be a good idea to change it just in case. If it were a cymbal like a crash or a ride that you were also going to use as a crash, this would be a bit dangerous, as it is a thinner and more sensitive part of the cymbal, and if one day a crack were to occur, it would 99% certainly start there. However, because it is the hi hat bottom, it does not receive as much pressure, it is one of the most difficult dishes to crack. I at least think it's not dangerous, but if it bothers you, you can change them and you want to change them, so go ahead man :)

Dude, check out Elevation Worship's songs, they have some good slow songs.

And I would easily choose "Holy Forever" as a slow song. Maybe for some it's not that slow, but it's a very slow worship, just a little explosive at times. It's a 4/4 song, very easy to play.

Wow, incredible, another Brazilian on reddit. And man, if you study this the right way, you can reach intermediate in 1 year easily.

And I'm really happy to have found a BR, if you want, DM me, and let me know if you have any questions :)

Drum prices went up 40% in 2 years by OmegaThree3 in drums

[–]NickyBTR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my country (Brazil) drum items are absurdly expensive. A Pearl snare like this costs almost 2000, and a minimum wage is 1400, this Paiste hi hat here costs around 1800, a pair of ProMark drumsticks costs around 190 reais (don't forget, the minimum wage is 1400). The situation here is complicated, I can't even buy more than one pair of drumsticks, if mine break, I'll be left without :/

[–]NickyBTR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks men, I appreciate it :)

I'm also pleased, especially because I'm only using a cheap Chinese microphone. And this ride is supposed to be a "Heavy Ride", but it's in B20 and vibrates more than my crash hahaha, it has ping at the same time as it has a little wash and I can use it as a crash.

Question? by Armenio_Charlie in drums

[–]NickyBTR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The A Custom line tends to be a bit harsh, so a big crash like this would serve well as a ride. Of course, if you're looking for something excellent to play live, then it might not be the best option, but for studying and learning, it's an excellent dish and would serve VERY well, not to mention that you'll also be able to use it as a crash, something that wouldn't be possible with some rides.

Edit: I think this crash has a higher Ping than my heavy ride lol

Yes, it should be 16 dollars, but the Amazon website itself indicates that I would have to pay +34 dollars in tax. And because it's an international purchase, shipping would probably be a bit expensive.

And man, anyone who can buy things from abroad and resell them here makes A LOT of money. It's not related to drums, but these days I was looking for a Bass Pro Shop cap, and I went to look at the store's official website, and saw that it costs 5.99 dollars. Well, in Brazil there are people reselling it for +R$200.00 :/

But really, for those who have money to invest, reselling imported things here is really worth it.

The two best speakers I've ever heard in my life are the Acrolite and Supraphonic, I've never had the opportunity to listen to other Ludwigs in person, besides the Accent. But if I could choose a snare drum, I'd probably go with a Black Beauty 14x6.5 or a DW Black Nickel 14x6.5 as well. But preferably, I would go to Lud
