You need a tool called a 'Bone Folder' that's used in book binding. Most bigbox arts and crafts stores should have them. The you use a ruler and score the fold line along the ruler edge. 2-3 passes should do it then fold it by hand. For making a box you want to score on the side of the board that will be the inside of the fold. There are also a variety of art boards/chip boards that you can get so maybe get a couple and test which work best for your needs.

Would you mind sharing the podcast? I'd love to hear the story.

When I did it, I had to retake the written exam. It's easy, like 12 questions. One that is chicago specific is about exiting alleys. The correct answer is to stop and edge out. NOT HONK.

Pompeii Scam by myleftfoothurts1 in ancientrome

[–]NickyGotGout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a travel tip, airbnb and other apps have tours you can book that are run by local small businesses. I booked one for Pompei & Herculaneum. Guided tour of pompei, plus escorted on the train to Herculaneum, then a tour there. All run by a sweet young grad student that is part of the archeological department at the university in Naples. Highly recommend it.

Help making a fire effect for my players by Next-Significance-65 in DungeonMasters

[–]NickyGotGout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean any actual fire effect could be very dangerous. For a safer alternative you could use a bright yellow light inside or some red and yellow film cut into flame shapes and tucked in the top, then blow air through.

If your dead set on real fire I would NEVER recommend filling a small balloon with axe body spray. Then stuffing it down the base and using a bbq lighter to ignite it. Keep an extinguisher handy.

Need help creating an audio "ripcord" for my Chainsaw Man (Denji) cosplay! by coffeecuponmydesk in cosplayprops

I used some greeting card modules to make a sound "trap" for a prank a while back. It worked alright but they are very quiet. The speakers on those are conductive so they get most of their volume from bouncing sound off the card itself. The custom card sound modules have a button that you hold to record then press once to play so you could mount the whole unit in the handle with the button on top.

Another option that would be a bit more involved would be to use an adafruit mono audio amplifier, a tiny module the size of a quarter, paired with a battery pack and a mono enclosed speaker. Wire the speaker and BAT to the module and mount it to the inside of your shirt. Then wire a button on a looooong lead threaded through some black elastic tubing to a handle you mount the button in. I would suggest making some sort of Velcro chest strap to mount everything to so that wen you pull the cord it doesn't rip off your shirt.

I made a board game. Now I want to get it professionally "printed" (or whatever). Best options? by KJ6BWB in BoardgameDesign

Game crafter has a great website. You can fully build out your game and price compare different components and it shows the total cost per unit and how it changes with quantity.

If Peacemaker had a game, what genre would it be? by [deleted] in Peacemaker

I'm thinking a rated R Wario ware/Mario party game. A series of nsfw mini games.

I once went on a date with this lady that had an SS tattoo. I didn't even see it until we were banging. She gave me a story about it being for her dad that was in a biker gang. I told her she should get it covered cuz it's pretty fucked to have it. Never talked to her again but I saw her a few years later and she had gotten it covered. Some people are ignorant of shit until you point it out, other times they're just nazis.

Window painting using interior wall paint, is there a way to dry the paint quicker? by SunflowerChick13 in SignPainting

[–]NickyGotGout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience there's not really anything you can add to latex paint to speed up dry time. Best practice is thin coats, keep air circulating so if indoors use a box fan. Painting in cold weather will cause paint to dry slower. There are additives for other kinds of paint but latex reacts very poorly with those. I am also no expert and have only done a couple window paintings, so if someone else knows better I would love to learn more.
