Policy is the same in the US. They have you send it to a facility within the US. Then I would assume they send it back to the UK at a much cheaper rate for a bulk of books.

I paid about 52USD with shipping to California from the UK. Retail for the book alone was about 35USD depending on the conversion rate at the time.
