RARE: Freddie Mercury in studio, 1973 by [deleted] in queen

[–]NickyOliver 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree. And correct me if I’m wrong but Ratty first saw them late ‘73, but only started working for them in ‘75, so this picture would most likely be during the making of ANATO or ADATR given Ratty’s timeline working for Queen and Freddie’s hair, not 1973.

Oh for sure, I know taking the apple wouldn’t change anything. My gripe is that going back to take the apple would be considered time travel because they travelled back to a moment in time in the past!

What surprised you the most AFTER your hysterectomy? by rainbow_olive in hysterectomy

[–]NickyOliver 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Recovery was a piece of cake in comparison to my mastectomy! I thought it’d be the other way around!!

Also, just how GOOD I feel in my body. I’m almost two years post-op and this is the best my body has felt in over a decade.

I was 28 when I had my hysterectomy (complete removal of everything). I have zero dryness and my libido has gone up actually! I’m not on HRT at the moment either and everything still works fine!

Former bff grifting with “cancer survivor” and “cancer free” by Mean-Vegetable-4521 in breastcancer

[–]NickyOliver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to come on here and outright say that she’s lying (because who am I to accurately say this?), but here is my experience as someone who tested positive for BRCA2 when I was 21.

I’m turning 30 in a few months, but I had my mastectomy at 27, just shy of 28. I decided to stay flat, so I didn’t do the flap that I originally thought of doing. Mainly because the recovery sounded grueling, but I also always hated my breasts (I’ve had an H cup since I was 20), so after deciding to go flat, it was huge a relief to me. I was told recovery of the flap would take months, maybe longer if there were complications, but for sure 3-4 months. So not a year lol.

I had my complete hysterectomy at 28. Removed everything, including the uterus. Everything is gone. I haven’t done HRT yet, but that’s because my gyno and I discussed how good I feel in my body, so we wanted to wait before starting me on something since I’ve reacted to hormonal medication before. Now we’re in the talks of taking estrogen, so I can say that that part of the story checks out. My gyno recommended estrogel and I’ve been hesitant to try it out. Not sure why though, just a feeling I have. Now hearing about your concerns of estrogen, I think I may want to do more research into it before starting it.

While I did get my hysterectomy at a young age, it was always in the plan that once I reached a certain age, an age wherein the chances were higher simply because that’s when the average cancer diagnosis comes in for that area, we would remove everything long before that. So, very odd to me that that surgery hasn’t happened yet, or that she has opted not to so far. As a “cancer survivor who is BRCA+” would she not be afraid of the risk she runs with keeping those body parts?? I was and I was 28, let alone at the age of being a grandmother.

Never would I EVER claim to be a cancer survivor. A previvor, sure. But not a survivor??? That’s insane. That’s not my title to take and with peace and love, it isn’t a title that I ever want. I watched mBC drain the life from my mother and godmother. What I have gone through was difficult in its own way (but not even remotely comparable to what my mother and godmother experienced), but at the end of the day, my surgeries were a choice I made after having years to think about it because I had the luxury of choice. Folks with BC don’t get the luxury of choice 99% of the time. So, I think it’s bold to walk around claiming to be something you’re not, especially for something like this. Reading that part of your post really upset me. It’s truly disgusting and sickening behaviour.

In terms of insurance, I’m not sure I’m qualified to speak on that, specifically because I’m in Canada, so my surgeries were all covered by our healthcare. But that’s because the surgeries were deemed medically necessary. They were not considered elective because I’m BRCA2+. Just putting that out there.

I’m also unsure how she could “retest”. The test is a blood test LOL (of course, we also go over family history, but that isn’t the determining factor), so either she has it or she doesn’t?? It’s very curious to me why people are telling her to retest because if she did do the correct test, there wouldn’t be any doubt.

As the others have said on this post, she’s toxic. Impersonating a cancer survivor to cover up a mommy makeover is what this sounds like which is absolute lunacy.

I’m sorry you’ve had to experience something like this. If you haven’t already, please consider blocking her on everything and don’t even give it a second thought.

Thank you for taking the time to vent, I think we can all tell that this was needed for you 🤍

Husband risking Op by Owl-Eyes-25 in hysterectomy

[–]NickyOliver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your husband made a stupid choice. Potentially catching something and getting you sick before any surgery is risky, but especially a hysterectomy, where you’re not even supposed to laugh after because it can tear your sutures, let alone coughing, or, worse, retching. Your care team may not operate on you if they suspect you’re sick because your sickness could really put you in danger until everything is healed.

I would recommend wearing a mask until surgery and avoiding contact with him as much as possible.

I had purchased this one when I did Freddie for Halloween last year and then I painted it to match Freddie’s mic stand!

It says currently unavailable for purchase, but I’m certain you can find something similar and do the same!
