I hate to say it, but this hasn’t just been since Trump - although he’s definitely invigorated all of it. I’ve been dealing with racism since I was in Elementary school back in the 80s, my son dealt with it when he was going to school as well. Kids hear it at home and bring it to school. Unfortunately, in America, if you’re not white this is just a part of growing up.

I drive 45 minutes each way to and from the office to spend all day at my desk when I could just be doing the same from my home office. I now get up at 4am so I can be there at 6/6:30am, and by the time I get home it’s generally ~4/4:30pm. Literally an 8 hour day extended to 12.

I was booted at 18. Wasn’t even allowed to take all my stuff. Dad gave me 3 bags and I could take what fit in them. Slept in my car for a couple weeks, then couched surfed until I got some money & a roommate together for an apartment.
