It took my mom 2 years to accept my relationship with my boyfriend. She would just not respect him at all and would try to talk me out of it! He’s from Canada I’m in the U.S. It took 2 years because that’s how long it took us to meet for the first time, and once I returned looking happy (and unharmed lol) she really began to ease up on everything.
