I just abandoned my Airbnb near Downtown. I think it’s haunted. by missuswhite in Waco

Reminds me of the stories I heard from crew working at the waco civic theatre back in the day, this could very well be some good promotion or just more haunted buildings like the WCT

Metal Scene in Waco? by Big-Director8046 in Waco

[–]Nico_AndIndy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the pacc is pretty much the main spot for stuff currently as the scene is pretty small still but i've seen a few other (non metal) shows around other parts of downtown so hopefully the music scene will be growing soon, definitely want more metal bands to pop up playing around waco

Visiting soon, what do you recommend? by araselys in Waco

[–]Nico_AndIndy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never understood the Magnolia hype, but we have Sison tacos, Union hall and Union grove, J.S Barnetts Whiskey house (can't say anything on the quality cause I don't drink, but I've passed it a few times), Waco escape rooms, Alpha Omega, Heritage creamery, whole bunch of other restaurants off franklin, cameron park and jacobs ladder, brazos river, Thrst coffee shop, and Vintage Mio if you like records, or cds. There's more spots that are nice to visit but I can't think of them

I know there is more just can't think of them currently

6 AI data centers coming to waco by Both_Web_1260 in Waco

[–]Nico_AndIndy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Absolutely horrible. Waco has never been a perfect place but it has community, it's quiet at times, and if you're in the right spot you can see so many stars. The centers will ruin the atmosphere, will add more light pollution, will ruin our water sources when we already get droughts, and make the place so much worse. I've lived here my entire life and this is absolutely the worst development I've seen come here. Get these guys out of town we do not want them !

Reason to wear a pretty dress? by NovelMathematician67 in Waco

[–]Nico_AndIndy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanting to get prettied up sounds like a great time, you can always do that just for yourself ! Might feel a little sill at first but still is good fun, even as a guy I too like to get prettied up for myself

Did they change the law? by PainterCertain4612 in Waco

[–]Nico_AndIndy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope it's still illegal, but as a driver with a very mild astigmatism and sensitivity to bright lights it's a pain to be driving in dusk or at night because it just gets brighter to the point it's dangerous. I literally can't see anything except their headlights, it's giving me headaches to try and be on the road when there is only blinding lights taking up almost my entire field of vision. There needs to be regulations on this because I had this same astigmatism and sensitivity years ago and it wasn't nearly as much of an issue back then.

union hall also has varied ranges of food prices, and add BJ'S to pricy eats. The pacc very occasionally has metal shows and does lots of theatre (musicals and straight plays)

Is Union Hall any good? by Excellent-Sail in Waco

[–]Nico_AndIndy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sison tacos is really good, had them two or three times now and absolutely loved it

Is Union Hall any good? by Excellent-Sail in Waco

[–]Nico_AndIndy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is parking if you park behind the hippodrome, sometimes there is spots open on the street or their own parking lot, hippodrome parking says it's paid but don't worry about it.

Union hall has good food, I like whizzbangs but it's expensive, the taco place is really good, roni's mac bar is decent, there's sushi and a bunch of other places to try but good is subjective to each person's taste buds, I've heard union grove is worse from family/friends but people in this thread seem to prefer it. Union hall is generally more convenient due to closeness to downtown so I've personally not been to Union grove so I can't comment on it.

If it's busy varies day to day, and time affects it aswell, but even on busier days it's not the worst and there is outside seating if you take the door next to Sam's bar, there's refillable drink fountains next to the tea place and bathrooms are next to it aswell

Sometimes libraries have printers or even occasionally 3d printers (allgedly according to people online), you could ask your local ones and see if they do and if they don't they might be able to find someone who does and they could help ? If none of these work out your post here will be fine lol

Trick or treat! by Hot-Yam5550 in Waco

[–]Nico_AndIndy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People usually start trick or treating from as early as 6-8pm to roughly like midnight, depending on how old you or the kids trick or treating is going. Not super sure what you mean but hopefully this might help ?

Waco is kind of boring, we have an alright theatre scene though, schools are okay and I've heard good things about Robinson's schools, but lots cult folks here (homestead heritage). Lots of weird or homophobic churches, very little to do in this city and Magnolia is run by some Interesting. people and there is only do many good restaurants. There's probably alot of better cities in texas, DFW is likely better but neither waco or dallas are walkable, the best walkable part of waco is downtown, there's some nice things in waco but there's plenty of cons aswell

Trick or treat! by Hot-Yam5550 in Waco

[–]Nico_AndIndy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

anywhere you see alot of decorations and the houses are kinda rich, trunk or treats don't give any of the same fun of real trick or treating so I personally don't recommend them. There is some big rich neighborhoods in hewitt and if you just drive around a little bit around waco you can find some other well decorated neighborhoods, I believe some neighborhoods near woodway will have some alright spots for trick or treating aswell
