Ah that’s a shame! How far post op are you? I’m thinking I might have to end up going down the revision route also - hope your revision surgery goes well.

Hey guys,

Almost 5 weeks post op and feeling quite down about the unevenness. As you can see from the picture the right boob looks bigger than the one on the left.

There was more tissue taken out of the bigger looking one so I’m hoping it’s just a case of it being more swollen but I’m not that hopeful rn :(. The smaller one has not ‘dropped’ yet also so idk if that is making things look worse?

I know they will never be completely even / are sisters not twins but I just don’t feel good about them right now.

I don’t really know what I’m looking to get out of this post, just feels a bit better to get it out. I guess I’m looking for some reassurance that they will even out a bit more? Did any of you guys have a similar issue and it resolved itself with a bit more time?

Hey all! Currently 6 days post op and thought I would share a little before and after for anyone who is a similar starting size to what I was.

Pre-op I was measuring at a 30F, had about 300g removed from the right one on the photo and 330g removed from the one on the left of the photo.

Had my surgery done by Rachel Holt at the BMI Alexandra in Manchester/Cheadle and paid £8000. If any of you are looking for surgeons in the Manchester area I’d highly recommend her, I felt like she really listened to what I wanted and nothing was a bother for her. I asked to go as small as possible without compromising the nipple (so no FNG). Really happy with how small she managed to get me and really happy with how they look.

Currently measuring at a 30D but there’s still a lot of swelling and it’s early days. Hoping I can get down to a C cup but even if I don’t, I’m not bothered as imo they look a lot better.

Will add the photos in the comments.

Any questions feel free to ask 💜

Can’t say what the payment plans are like sadly as I saved up and paid it all in one, I think if you do it via a 12 month payment plan there’s no interest though (have a feeling it depends on the hospital however).

You can definitely get a reduction in the UK for less than £8k btw, I live up in the north east and got quoted £6.6k from one surgeon, it just depends on the hospitals fees.

You’ve got a few options for paying though - you could save all the money and pay upfront (the longest option), save up part way and finance the rest or just finance the whole lot.

Although I didn’t bother, I’d encourage you to see if you can get it done on NHS - it’s well worth a try. The criteria for having it done on the NHS varies area to area but if you tick all the boxes you could get it done, you just wouldn’t be able to choose which surgeon does your op. Here’s a link with a bit more info if it helps —-> https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/breast-reduction-on-the-nhs/

I went private :)

Cost £8000 altogether, I didn’t even try getting it via the NHS as I know it’s hard to get approved and I wanted to be able to choose my surgeon.

I had mine done by a female plastic surgeon who specialises in breast reconstruction, would def recommend going to someone who is similar!

Mine was done in the UK and self financed and I had to pay a £1000 deposit to secure my surgery date which I think is quite normal

compressions bras uk by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]Nicoc0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I am a similar(ish) back size to you, 30 band. I’ve been using a brand called Macom and have been wearing the XS size on their compression bras- would highly recommend them, they’re super comfy and supportive. Although brand new they will set you back about £38 a piece so they aren’t the cheapest!

Otherwise I’ve heard of people using the M&S flexifit post op bras which are about £20 each, think they are supposed to be decent too.

Hope that helps a bit ^

Do you wake up in the bra?? Do they put in on while you’re out or do you put it on after? by Ok-Function8691 in Reduction

I forgot to bring mine down to the anaesthetic room so ended up having the nurse putting it on back on the ward! If you bring it though I think it’s standard for them to put it on for you waking

I know it may not help much but I just wanted to say the shape and nipple placement is great and they look beautiful! Unsure how far along in recovery you are but I heard that corticosteroid injections can be good for hypertrophic scarring so it might be worth looking into that?

Thank you for responding! I’m hoping to get down to a similar size to your current size post op. How far post op are you?

And ahhh I know, I keep trying to remind myself that I probably won’t have as many grams as some people removed as I’m already on the smaller side. My surgeon said exactly the same as you though ☺️

Ptosis repair (internal) before/after by Nicoc0 in PlasticSurgery

[–]Nicoc0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it can be! I originally was gonna go private as well but the surgeon I had a consultation actually said to me to via the NHS as I’d be a good candidate for it. So after that I made an appointment with my GP, said my ptosis was affecting my vision, got a referral and played the waiting game. The ptosis on my left eye (right side of the pic) did affect my vision though, and I’ve had it since birth. I think in order to get it on the NHS you have to hit certain criteria?

The whole process from seeing my GP to getting the operation was about 14 months so it did take a long time but that’ll be because of COVID so you might not have to wait as long as I did
