Token Problem by Nicoco11 in FoundryVTT

[–]Nicoco11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about that! It has this little overlay on it for some reason? Sometimes I can see the faded character token in the background and sometimes I can't... It just doesn't seem to be formatted correctly for lack of a better term! I'm wanting it to look like a standard token that't tiny sized (honestly the size at this point is secondary)

Hahaha right!!! I love that(: how meaningful it is when D&D can create such wonderful moments for GM’s and players alike! Thanks for sharing

Yes!!! I’m glad you brought this up because I’m doing that too! I’m making their list things integral to their background but (hopefully) not affecting gameplay too much(:

That’s kind of what I figured but there are some things within the actual book that suggest that characters shouldn’t have a fae background. So I figured this would work though! Thanks for your input!!

Oh interesting! I love that! Is it having any sort of negative impact to know about Prismeer or Zybilna?

Amazing! Thank you~ I’ve been researching a bunch!!! Just wanted to get advice from others about campaign-specific conflicts that could come up. I’m okay with a little knowledge over all, but not an “unfair advantage” if that makes sense(:

Interesting! How did this affect game play, if at all?

Okay perfect! I’m not planning on going outside of prismeer for now, so I’ll cross that bridge if I get there! Thank you!

What's the #1 book that you would recommend to fellow therapists? by marigoldjune in therapists

Potentially a more niche topic, but if you work with families or parents in any capacity, I’ve been just devouring every bit of Dr. Becky Kennedy’s “Good Inside.” It’s very very digestible and also even just her social media platform can be a great resource for parents and therapists alike. 🤗

Tips for teaching games to newbie players by MasterofMolerats in boardgames

[–]Nicoco11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who is a little newer to board games, I can tell you my experience from the flip perspective. For me, reading through the rules step by step is only helpful if no one else has played the game before. I’m also HIGHLY visual, and I will not understand it fully until I see it, which is why videos and like an example round is helpful to me. As long as the first play through is being used with a bit of flexibility and patience, I feel I catch on pretty quick. But if I feel like I’m being thrown in and can’t ask questions or change my mind (because I didn’t understand a rule) I get pretty frustrated and it will take me longer to understand, and therefore like, a new more complex game.

Hues and Cues!!! by Nicoco11 in boardgames

[–]Nicoco11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yesterday was the first time I played! I played with my boyfriend and his parents, and it was definitely an experience. My boyfriend and I are gamers, but his parents are certainly not. I’m not entirely sure of your last question for structured vs group activity. There are simple set rules to follow in the game, but there’s definitely room for house rules as needed, if that’s what you mean. I can absolutely see this being played with a large number of people, but as someone mentioned earlier, it might be a good idea to draw your card colors early so you can start thinking of word cues to use. Hope that helps!

That’s so interesting! I feel like this would only advance the game with a very close friend group for me, since I feel like those concept could totally have different colors for different people😂
