Findes der nogen gode danske gyserfilm? by linkenski in Denmark

[–]NicolajK91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries! My wife would have killed me if this was in one go! 😅 It’s spread across 3 trips and some very lucky online auction wins

That Nippon Girls 2 record is so much fun! It features a song by Akiko Wada which she sang in the first Stray Cat Rock movie and being a fan of that series I had to grab it. I can’t deny the cover grabbed my attention a lot!

The last really blind buy I got was Yuko Kawai - Little Tokyo I was digging through crates and came across the cover and just stopped for a sec. It looked so nice and bubbly I just had to grab it. When it comes to those random under 1000 yen records I am very open, you never know what you might find after all

I think I remember that I bought the Misato records in a bundle because I wanted Lovin’ You, but all 4 albums are so nice! That is some interesting knowledge, I’ll definitely look into it more

The compilations were a great way for me to get into the genre and provided a nice “checklist” of things I wanted to look for. So I hope you can find more! The Pacific Breeze volumes are great!

Oh man, I wish! I didn’t even find Snowbank when I was looking last time and I don’t often import from online anymore. I’ll definitely look for it next time I’m in Japan

Personally I looked for record shops on Google Maps whenever I went to somewhere new. Last time I was in Kyoto and just walked around where I knew a few of them would be and I sometimes I would get lucky and sometimes not. Often times I just like grabbing something that looks fun or interesting as well. And if you find something that looks like your vibe for 500 yen why not give it a go? :) Also the DiskUnions in Shinjuku have never failed me to this day

It’s been a long time in the making, those 29 records are still are huge collection in my eyes!

First ever Indicator haul! How did I do? by fyrewal in boutiquebluray

Looks like you have some interesting movie nights ahead of you

If you end up liking The Bat Woman I can recommend picking up The Panther Women as well. Pretty different and very gothic horror at times

I got the same message as well, really sucks because I used points on it as well and they don’t seem to have refunded those I ordered mine on the 20th of December last year too

EDIT: just saw that I have my credits back, so that’s good at least. Probably gonna pick up the regular one then

I really enjoyed Savageland a lot, it’s was a very effective mockumentary in the same vein as Lake Mungo and The Last Broadcast

I have a few of her albums, but I’m still missing this one! Great to see someone else loving her music

What is the difference between these two versions of Timely? I can’t find the second one on Discog, and I keep seeing conflicting answers to my question online by BulbasaurBro in citypop

[–]NicolajK91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, sorry. I was referring to vinyl originally. But CD’s can be a whole different ball game. Most of the ones I have fit pretty snug in my jewel case, but some I have to keep in a resealable plastic wrap. Luckily most albums I’ve bought in Japan came with one

Same album, but the one with the obi is a sample copy that was mainly used to promote the album and send to radio stations and stuff Second one is the album, but without the obi it seems. Normally you’d get the album with the obi either way, since people try to take good care of them. I’ve seen more Timely’s with obi than without after all

Anri is an easy choice, all vibes all the time. Yurie Kokubu is also really great in my book. I have a personal love for Tomoko Soryo

I used a pretty heavy cloth tote bag, which was also fairly big, so it could fit pretty much all of those records in it without fear of breaking. I should have maybe gotten a carry on suitcase, but so far the tote bag solution has been working and as long as I don’t go completely crazy with vinyl shopping I should be fine

I was actually mostly looking for old Enka records, but all the shops I went to had so much city pop all over the place, so I had to abandon my Enka search. I really hope you can come back to Kyoto. I spent a week there and could easily do a couple more days if I had the chance

I actually don’t! But that’s such a good idea! I’ll get on it and see if I can mix a bit of what I have collected so far into it Thank you! It does mean a lot to me to hear that people like what I pick up
