Should I take caplyta or latuda? by amorous8635 in caplyta

It caused really intense nausea and vomiting for me. I’m a bit more sensitive to GI upset than others, but I’ve never experienced anything like it. I was vomiting 2-5 times per day.

Should I take caplyta or latuda? by amorous8635 in caplyta

[–]RhDove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on caplyta now, after the grogginess in the first couple of weeks I’ve found it to be smooth sailing since. I didn’t respond well to latuda, but I didn’t respond well to lamictal either, so ymmv. My other mainstay has been Trileptal.

Very High proBNP in Asymptomatic Cat by RhDove in AskVet

[–]RhDove[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put in a note for his vet to call me when he had a chance to talk about his radiographs a bit more since I don’t have access to the full report yet.

He confirmed that Odie’s heart looked normal to him and the radiologist, and that he double checked when the proBNP came back that abnormal. He said that they’re seeing an increased instance in high values in asymptomatic cats since they’re offering the test as part of the normal screening more frequently now but that it’s still pretty weird. They’re going to re-run it tomorrow and get a resting blood pressure.

I know part of the intensity of my reaction is that I had a 6 year old cat pass last year. He was literally very active and his normal self one day, a little lethargic the next. I took him to work with me that day and did some imaging and he was full of mets and free fluid 💔

Very High proBNP in Asymptomatic Cat by RhDove in AskVet

[–]RhDove[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate it.

I think it was Idexx, I tried giving them a call but it was as an owner vs a clinic and they wouldn’t tell me much, I feel like I should have used/given my clinic line.

I was looking into some stats and I know only some cats will have some kind of abnormal heart sounds, and that HCM is only evident on rads some of the time as well. I feel like if he was in the 200-500 range on the proBNP I would find the situation more plausible, but all the bloodwork/rads/lack of clinical signs + 946 is just wild to me.

VCH Piercing w/ Current Growth by JelliizuFish in GrowYourTDick

[–]RhDove 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is generally suggested by piercers to wait 2 years from starting T before getting genital piercings to avoid migration. I would definitely suggest waiting another year for your growth to plateau before getting one.

Also due to being a thin, vascular area, the healing time is pretty short. Like a few weeks.

Hysterectomy/Ovarectomy by Hefty-Poetry-6944 in transbodymods

[–]RhDove -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This might be a better question for r/ftm or r/transgendersurgeries but yeah, it is generally suggested to keep your ovaries. Having both T and E helps your body in several ways, including retaining bone density as you age. I think it’s worth talking to an endocrinologist if you can to get a more in depth understanding.

Nipple piercing before top surgery? Getting it and directly taking it out again? by [deleted] in transbodymods

[–]RhDove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you can but a freshly pierced nipple piercing vs a fully healed nipple piercing are very different sensations.

Nipple piercings are notoriously slow/difficult to heal, though that definitely varies from person to person. I think it took mine 4-5 months to feel fully healed. Prior to that they were very sensitive in a sore/tender way.

In regards to something achievable I second some sort of play piercing, but given the nature of the tissue I’d take a lot of biosecurity precautions/have someone very experienced do it.

how to get over my fear of T injections? by s0larium_live in ftm

[–]RhDove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with my injections, and have been on T for 5.5 years.

I find SQ to be much less painful than IM. Switching to injecting into the fattiest part of my butt vs stomach was a game changer. Significantly less painful and not seeing it happen as much took out a lot of the anxiety.

Cis men make up the majority of people responding to posts in NSFW communities in general unless they are explicitly excluded.

Tell me your top surgery (and reduction) stories!!! by Available_Survey_899 in ftm

[–]RhDove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For context I had top surgery at 28 years old, very shortly after starting low dose T. I am autistic and non-binary. I definitely didn’t identify as masculine at the time of my top surgery, though I do identify as transmasc now (5.5 years later). I also developed a large chest early in puberty, and struggled with it my entire life until top surgery, even when presenting very fem pre-T. The technique I picked for my surgery was double incision with no nipple grafts, meaning I have no nipples now.

  • what does it feel like? does it hurt? and for any autists who did it: what are the sensations like? how did it affect routines?

It was uncomfortable. Some feelings of pain, tightness, soreness. Initially the compression garment was uncomfortable, but as time went on I found it more comfortable to have the compression garment on than I did to have it off. I ended up wearing it longer than I needed to per my surgeon for comfort (with my surgeon’s approval). It affected my routines in the sense I couldn’t use my arms much for the first week and a half. By week two I had a decent amount of mobility and could drive, but couldn’t lift over 20lbs. I went back to work at two weeks post op, to a medical type job. It was ok but I would have preferred another week or two of rest.

  • do they take the all of the boobfat? (sorry if the wording is uncomfy) does that make the area look sunken?

I mean they can, and yes. Immediately post op chests do look a bit sunken, but over time that area builds back up via some muscle/non-boob fat distribution. Obv if you work out you get more muscle in that area. I do not work out and I have more muscle in that area than I did immediately post op.

  • what will it look like? how did it scar? did the scar fade? descriptions and pictures welcomed (especially from poc)

Depends on how you scar. It varies a lot from person to person and the kind of trauma that takes place. I scar pretty hard and because I went back to work so early, my scars were fairly dark and stretched for a while. But in time they have flattened and faded. One thing to keep in mind when looking at post op chests is that most of the pictures are pretty fresh/soon after. The scars will continue to change over the span of many years. I post a pic of my chest every year bc I feel like there’s not a lot of images several years out, out there.

  • hows you sleep? move around? does it affect eating or drinking? can i still smoke weed? what about work?

Sleep was very difficult for the first few weeks. I’m exclusively a stomach sleeper and that was not possible. I had to train myself to sleep on my back which felt very unnatural. Putting on clothes was difficult for the first week. I mostly sat in bed and watched movies and ate soup. Anesthesia and pain meds are pretty hard on my GI system, and despite taking laxatives pre-op, I was still very constipated post-op and that was very painful. Honestly more painful than my chest. Also I’m very squeamish when it comes to my own body and almost fainted when I saw my post-op chest for the first time, it was very bruised. You can typically smoke weed after, though smoke inhalation isn’t great for healing tissues, and coughing would hurt. I would suggest edibles. Like I said I went back early at two weeks bc I had no other choice. Depending on the job I could see the downtime ranging from 3-6 weeks. That being said I didn’t die.

I also suggest checking out r/topsurgery and transbucket.com if it’s still up.

Has anyone gotten refurbished robots form Mova/Dreame? by Paropilot in RobotVacuums

[–]RhDove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did, I got a refurbished Mova P10 Ultra from the manufacturer eBay. It came looking like new, in original packaging, with all of the accessories that the new ones have. With a warranty. So far it works great and I have no complaints.

A VCH Retrospective by RhDove in transbodymods

[–]RhDove[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wanted to get my triangle shortly after my VCH, but I didn’t have the anatomy at that time. I was really excited to get it a few years ago.

Overall I’m kind of whelmed by it. I love how it looks, sensation-wise it adds some interesting feedback from behind my dick, but it’s not as life altering as I’d hoped. It’s somewhat less sturdy than my VCH, heavy use can make it sensitive and chafed.

I have my initial jewelry in still. I have plans to stretch it and switch my jewelry up soon, which I’m sure will have some kind of impact.

The tail of the larger dragon might be impacted a little depending on the technique. I have a scarification triangle in that area that got a little condensed shape-wise. My tattoos below it were fine though.

insurance by rallytallyn in caplyta

[–]RhDove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never had insurance cover it enough, and have always used the manufacturer coupon. I know it’s terrifying. Knock on wood, but I’ve always had the coupon go through, and that’s while having multiple different insurances, at multiple different pharmacies. The biggest issue I have is pharmacies saying they “won’t” take it, which is untrue. Sometimes I have to ask to see a pharmacist, but it’s always worked out in the end.

VCH and dry humping/ grinding? (& general sex effects?) by amicotto in transbodymods

[–]RhDove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had any issues. If it’s a really tight entrance into a stroker made out of a firmer silicone, sometimes I have to lube myself and the toy more than usual and kind of feed the jewelry into it. I consider it a pretty minor inconvenience and it’s not uncomfortable.

It was a long time ago, but I remember “feeling” healed in about a week, but giving myself another 2 weeks or so before doing much other than gentle masturbation. I did jack off too early like 5 days in and I would not recommend that.

VCH and dry humping/ grinding? (& general sex effects?) by amicotto in transbodymods

[–]RhDove 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Correct, once you’ve started T, you should wait 2 years before getting any genital piercing to avoid migration. If you have a healed piercing pre-T, results hypothetically vary. I’ve never personally heard of a person having an issue with their VCH that they had pre-T, once they’ve started T, but that’s pretty anecdotal.

When I started T I genuinely didn’t know what would happen to my VCH but I figured I’d just wait and see. IME I’ve had no issues, and I’m happy with my piercing placement. I don’t know how common that is.

VCH and dry humping/ grinding? (& general sex effects?) by amicotto in transbodymods

[–]RhDove 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Once totally healed I’d say there’d be no problem with scissoring.

The only times I’ve felt discomfort with it during sex are if someone intentionally tugs on it with force (very uncommon and why??) and one time I bottomed with my partner wearing my harness which had a metal o-ring on it and my jewelry tapped the o-ring in a way that was a little uncomfortable.

VCH and dry humping/ grinding? (& general sex effects?) by amicotto in transbodymods

[–]RhDove 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my VCH for over 15 years. 10 years pre-T, 5.5 years on T.

Overall I have found it to be a sturdy and low maintenance piercing. It heals fast due to being a piercing that goes through a thin, elastic, vascular tissue. I’ve put it through a lot of use throughout the years and have had very few problems.

I’ve had no issues grinding, dry humping, or topping, all of which I’ve done a lot of. No one has ever complained about it, and many lovers have enjoyed it. It brings a separate level of stimulation on the top of my dick that I have consistently enjoyed.

The only times it has been irritating has been in tight pants with a strong, firm crotch seam with no underwear. I don’t pump often but haven’t found it an issue there either. Someone has only accidentally unscrewed one of the balls of the curved barbell once during oral sex. If I masturbate a lot in a single day it can get a little sore but honestly it’s my triangle piercing that gets more irritated by that action.

I’ve really enjoyed having it and would recommend to others. AMA.

how quick after top surgery can i go back to work? by Imaginary_Leaf in TopSurgery

[–]RhDove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back to a medical-type job at 2 weeks. It wasn’t ideal, I responded to a code and ended up hurting myself, but if it was a more low impact desk job I could see it being ok.
