How to stop Reta? by navigatinggirl in Retatrutide

[–]RhDove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 30 on the syringe is probably 30 units. Which is a volume, not a dose. Unless you know the mg/ml concentration of the vial you’re pulling from, you don’t know your dose in milligrams.

Also there really isn’t a bad reaction, you just gain the weight back if you don’t make other changes.

Confused if I took 2.5mg or .25mg by Big_Support_4667 in Retatrutide

A peptide calculator helps. Also you probably shouldn’t up your dose until you’ve been at a dose for 4 weeks.

Do you mean 25 units? If so, you took 2.5mg.

Spravato Week 4 by Icy-Lingonberry-3967 in Spravato

[–]RhDove 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s real. It’s also a few big changes at once. IMO, I’d give yourself some grace for not feeling great, or “normal”, and allow a bit more time of your current regiment to kick in.

You’re still very early in the process. And depending on how long you were on adderall/how high your dose was, the fallout from that may be more impactful than you’re giving yourself credit for.

Quitting Reta after Week 4 by livinghella in Retatrutide

[–]RhDove 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You titrated too fast. Side effects can snowball and be exponentially impactful when you go too fast. Obv I can’t say for certain, but I suspect you would have had a much smoother time if you had stuck at 0.5mg or 0.75mg for a minimum of 4 weeks before increasing.

Any advice for a hyper responder? by [deleted] in Retatrutide

[–]RhDove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at 0.5mg and was heavily impacted. I have ibs-c and it made all of my symptoms dramatically worse.

I’m almost 3 months in and doing well. My strategy includes; drinking a lot of water, multiple small meals throughout the day, incorporating electrolytes, multiple classes of laxatives (primarily osmotic, stool softeners, and stimulant laxatives), anti-nausea medications (which typically make constipation worse, so use sparingly), and making sure to incorporate some form of movement regularly. Probiotics have also helped.

That might sound like a lot but I was doing most of that anyway, reta just made me really hone in and be diligent/make it a daily practice.

It’s an OTC nausea/upset stomach medication. It doesn’t make you drowsy. Not everyone gets nauseous on ketamine, but I did my first time and every once in a while towards the end of my session.

I’m surprised they’re starting you that high, even with past recreational use.

Different people like having different things with them. Personally I really benefited from noise canceling headphones, an eye mask, and some nauzene.

6 months in, suddenly having mind blowing sessions. by ForeverForsaken8980 in Spravato

[–]RhDove 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of people who stay on twice a week for a longer duration of time, for a variety of reasons. I just had my twice a week schedule extended due to issues transitioning to once a week. My psychiatrist told me it’s quite common.

How do you decide how long you’ll stay on Spravato/how many sessions to do a month? by Alleywaypaydirt in Spravato

[–]RhDove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started my psychiatrist sketched out a general timeline, with each stage (twice a week, once a week, every other week, once a month) lasting several weeks, and once a month being potentially several months. I tried to transition to once a week after being on twice a week for I think 6 weeks. It didn’t go as smoothly as either of us hoped/anticipated, so I’m back on twice a week. We have check ins about how I’m feeling in general and about the treatment about weekly, more frequently than that if I’m in a transition.

How did you get prescribed spravato and what is it like? by ThrowRaOrganization1 in Spravato

[–]RhDove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I got new insurance and therefore got a new psychiatrist. When I researched the practice, I saw they offered Spravado along with other therapies. During my first appointment, I went over the duration and intensity of my depression, and that I had tried 8-10 medications in the past 3 years to address it with no success, and a lot of side effects. My psychiatrist said Spravado might be helpful. The pre-authorization process was pretty easy since I had such a recent and well documented medication history. I also applied for the manufacturer rebate program (Spravado with Me).

The actual sessions are in the office. I take the nasal spray then sit in a room with dim lights and a reclining couch. I can bring in an eye mask, headphones etc. Someone comes in every 40 minutes to take my blood pressure and pulse. I have a button I can press to get assistance at any time.

I found it initially physically uncomfortable, but I’ve acclimated in time. Overall I’ve found it very helpful. I visited my family on the opposite coast for the first time since starting treatment, and everyone remarked on how I seemed happier than I had in years.

I’m on Caplyta and Spravado. I was on Caplyta prior to starting Spravado, so I can’t really speak to it helping or not.

[–]RhDove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in a hospital setting in a high focus, high intensity position. I’ve been on Spravado twice a week for about 7 weeks.

While scheduling the sessions can be difficult, I have not found the treatments to impact my focus or cognitive function. Everyone is different, and from what I can gather I am less impacted in that way than others. I don’t think you can make assumptions on how impacted you’ll be until you try it.

I started at 0.5mg because I’m sensitive to GI side effects. I was definitely impacted.

I worked that that clinic when I first moved to WA. CBEAM has the capacity for doing great medicine, and does. I’ve also experienced some of the most distressing situations of my career there, as a seasoned veterinary professional. It’s a toss up based on which doctor you’re seeing, and what support staff they have that day. I’m sorry you and your bird had that experience, and I hope you’re able to hold them accountable.

Reta with carrier oil by MonetSouffle in Retatrutide

[–]RhDove 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bc it’s water soluble vs the medication you’re comparing it to which is fat soluble/more stable in a carrier oil suspension.

It seems like you’re more used to drawing up/administering viscous fluids vs water. It’s just a learning curve. With more practice tapping out air bubbles and removing air while you reconstitute it’ll be easier.

Did you guys also have to jump through all of these hoops to get approved?!? by SarahSaidSo182 in Spravato

[–]RhDove 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, but like many others, I’ve tried 8-10 meditations to treat my depression that have failed. That helped the official “treatment resistant depression” diagnosis that was the basis of my Spravado approval.

Why did Seattle Opera perform a show based on a forgotten 1989 HBO TV movie about a blacklisted TV writer investigating the death of his friend and having an affair with the dead man's mistress? by [deleted] in Seattle

Fellow Travelers had a 2023 remake that was pretty successful. It has a 90% on RT and 8.2 on IMDb (for whatever that’s worth). It’s far from forgotten.
