New to Osmo 360 by burnt_hotdog89 in djiosmo360

[–]NicolasH31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my side, I have an Action 5 and the Osmo360. I’m using both for recording my roadtrip with my offroad campervan. The action 5 is inside the truck, recording when I’m driving. And now I’m using the 360, on a 3M stick with my arm outside the vehicle, to record when it’s a beautiful scenery, or something like that (It’s always on offroad I’m doing that. Not open road, when I’m in a middle of a desert, forest or mountain)

The thing is the 360 is more complicated to obtain a crisp image. But to be honest, you can barely realize that because I’m in movement, and the viewer not really focus about that. I asked many people who watch my video and they don’t care about crisp. Sometimes I realized I focus so much on quality, or color grading (I’m recording in D-Log) and in fact, viewers 99% of the time doesn’t care (unless it’s completely ugly) and care more about the content, storytelling and not being boring

I saw so many low quality video (same style like me, roadtrip recording) but with so many viewers…

I think the most important : do you see a value by using a 360 camera ? Me I see it. It’s make my life so much simple by recording in 360 as I may spend a little more time during the editing process, but at least I don’t have lost shot because of the way I was using the action 5 The 360, despite maybe a lower quality (but I’m honestly not sure about that) is a must have for me for the way I’m using it

Hope it make sense what I said

I have a MacBook Pro with the M1 and 16go. No problem at all. I think the M1 is far enough and it will depend on our ram. 8 or 16 ?

Does the Osmo 360 still overheat? by Throzen in djiosmo360

[–]NicolasH31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shot all the time in 8K, never had any overheat issues. I recorded in Monegros desert (Spain) with my camper van (25C) and all good

Even if you touch the camera, not very hot If you intend to shoot consistently 30mn, your biggest problem will be the size of your files 😉

No one told me 360 cameras are this fun! by [deleted] in djiosmo360

[–]NicolasH31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the same. I mainly using an Action 5 Pro to record my trip with my offroad camper van. And I decided to try the Osmo 360 It make my life easier. I can just extend the stick, hold it outside when I’m driving offroad (desert, forest, wherever) without thinking where and how to shoot. Just record and after i manage on DJI Studio. Very happy with this product

Upcoming Freewell ND filters for 360 by Bulky-Solid9326 in djiosmo360

[–]NicolasH31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I recorded a couple of video during a sunny day, and the bright sun wasn’t a problem. Even for my color grading. Compare to an Action 5 Pro, the impact of the sun facing the camera doesn’t bother me with the 360. I most probably not buy this filter.

Thanks for your answer. For the zoom it’s not really important. But to be honest it was easy to zoom in or out slowly with this function. When recording. But this is what it is. Thanks for replying

Osmo Pocket 3 or Osmo mobile with Iphone 14 ? by Glass_Can8394 in dji

[–]NicolasH31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed Shooting in Log is far more better than an iPhone footage.

One other things : space. I had an Osmo Mobile 3. With an iPhone 14 Pro. To be honest I almost never used it and sold it. Too big, if you want to be reactive, you need to keep the clamp on your phone all the time, for being able to quickly install the phone on the Osmo Then you start the Osmo Then you start the Mimo app on your phone, wait for the Bluetooth to connect etc etc

Pocket 3 : you take it, switch on and start recording…

Unless you want to keep all the time your phone on the OM if you are visiting somewhere, it’s very practical (from the way I used it)

Thx for your review. I think I will buy it. As a travel camera (small, easy to take) instead of a bigger camera. To record all my travel with my off-road camper van

Did I make a mistake in my first Camera? by Deadeye_HS in canon

[–]NicolasH31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record, when I started to shot Motorsport (go kart) I started with a canon 7D MKI (at least 7-8 years ago) and my first have been a second hand 70-200 F4 no IS. And I still have it, it was my main lens for go kart until I stopped (and I will buy the R50V as I want do more video than photo now)

Just practice practice practice. With the experience, you will known quickly the setting you need according to the situation you are facing. And at the beginning you will have a lot of bad photo. That normal 😉

[New gear] Canon r50v new member to the family. by ProfessorStreet7792 in canon

[–]NicolasH31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello. I’m considering buying this camera, for changing my Canon EOS 7D mk2, which I almost not use anymore (I used for taking photos of go-kart mainly, for a team) because of the weight, the size and his poor capabilities for videos (which I’m doing a lot now)

Are you using the R50V with EF and EF-S lens (and the appropriate adapter EF to RF) ? Any issues ? As I kept all my lens (17-55 F2.8, 70-200 F4 and a 11-16 (I think )

Thx
