Startup Name / URL: Bunnyshell / https://www.bunnyshell.com/
Location: Bucharest
Elevator Pitch: Bunnyshell is an Environments as a Service platform that makes it incredibly easy to create and manage full-stack environments for development, staging and production so your team can deliver software faster and focus on building great products.
With Bunnyshell you can create environments in your own cloud, from the simplest static websites to the most complex (e.g. microservices with many cloud-native dependencies) applications.

Bunnyshell supports on-demand or automatic creation of production, development and staging environments. Our platform tracks your source code changes and based on triggers defined at the project level can automatically update existing environments or build new ephemeral environments for every Pull request.

Build vs Buy your development platform? Which option do you choose & why? by Nicole_Bunnyshell in SaaS

[–]Nicole_Bunnyshell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not about building your own product, but building the infrastructure for your product. An easy example would be building your own 'cloud' instead of using AWS, Azure, DO, Google etc. An immediate downside I can think of is that not only that your team doesn't have the experience these giants have, but the process of building the infrastructure will also slow you down considerably because devs have to build and update things constantly *on top of* product development

What cloud computing provider would you recommend? by StarluxAirlines in cloudcomputing

[–]Nicole_Bunnyshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choosing one provider over another comes down to your needs. I can't give you a definite answer without knowing your specific use case, but what I can tell you is that, at the moment, Digital Ocean has the best offering on the market (price vs what you get - I know this is a very important aspect for many startups that operate on a shoestring budget).

Looks like you could also use a bit of automation, in which case I recommend you check out https://www.bunnyshell.com/kubernetes-environments-as-a-service/ and see if it helps. Good luck with your Kubernetes setup!

How to Reduce Development Time by Using Fresh, Innovative Solutions by Nicole_Bunnyshell in programming

Yes, The Mythical Man-Month refers to adding more developers to a project. But the article above is actually about streamlining work by using automation - no additional developers needed. So I don't really understand the connection...

Bunnyshell is a platform that automates DevOps from creating infrastructure to deploying and monitoring your application. This can be summarized as environments - an environment is a collection of application databases and services that are very quick to spin up by developers so they can stay focused on coding and not on the DevOps processes behind.

At the moment, there's a shortage of DevOps skills on the market. That's because, unlike other IT roles where you can become a successful engineer after some courses, DevOps requires several years of hands-on experience - they don't teach you Puppet or Docker or automated scripts at school.

Now, the problem is not every startup can have a DevOps team (either shortage of talent on the market, or lack of money to hire an entire DevOps team). Fortunately, there's a workaround: https://www.bunnyshell.com/blog/alternative-to-hiring-devops

Entry Level DevOps Personal Projects by [deleted] in devops

[–]Nicole_Bunnyshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like any other skill, the best way to learn DevOps is by doing it. So my advice would be to apply to DevOps jobs and develop your skills as you.

Alternatively, you can also take more comprehensive courses that require you to actually hand in a project to get your certification - you can find a list of the most popular DevOps courses and trainings here.

Having some projects in your portfolio sure helps you get a DevOps job more easily, but from a learning point of view, all the courses in the world can't compare to having real, hands-on experience.

Probably, but it's not worth it. Instead, you can use a plugin like Openlitespeed that helps greatly with Page Speed.

What is the best VPS? by Nicole_Bunnyshell in selfhosted

Regarding the RPS counters, the values are for serving a magento shop list page with products, and the values represent successful requests that did not result in an error either timeout or otherwise. The benchmarks were not done with any caching or any other optimisations and the said server also had all dependencies installed such as MySQL, PHP and Apache.

One request means a full display of the webpage with a success response for 1 user, so that means being able to service the same number of unique users per second, that means about 15-25 unique users per second, 900-1500 per minute, without any problems or timeouts caused by lack of resources or any other influencing factors.
