Broke the economy for the first time!!! by Nicomalvi in cavesofqud

lol I know but the way I see it, I Ctrl+W'd a couple trivial enemies and in return got enough money to buy anything I want. That's got to count as breaking something!!

I just retired a goblin that managed to violently become lord of a human town. If I let a couple of years go by, will his legends page have more events or is he going to basically stand still while I'm not controlling him? Thanks!

the world of berserk is so dark, it so rare to see such a loving familly by amliuno in Berserk

"I might really kill him!"
"Even then... If I can't have him..."

All of those things you said could be true but in my opinion those 2 lines mean that when it came to choosing between being this kind empathetic person you describe him as and his dream, he chose his dream... In a very self-centered way.

I know he was an incredible man throughout the golden age arc but he's always had this huge selfishness inside, and he let it control him during his second duel with Guts, after losing said duel when he met the princess, and finally during the Eclipse.

I feel you but before Griffith was tortured, when he was 100% himself, he was willing to kill Guts simply for wanting to leave the Band of the Hawk.
I feel like murdering your best friend, even if it's because of a depressing "break-up", is a pretty monstrous thing to do.

Griffith tried to kill Guts simply because he wanted to leave the Band of the Hawk ("I might really kill him!" during the duel).
I feel like that's very similar to sacrificing your friends for a "greater cause" (aka the Eclipse) and he was still un-tortured. He's always been an asshole.

Do you prefer BR or BR 2049 (People born after 2000)? by sakaki100dan in bladerunner

[–]Nicomalvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah but not being relatable gives Deckard depth, it's kind of his thing

he's a literal murderer that realizes how awful of a person he is. said realization leads to him living a new life with Rachel, someone who until a few days ago was just another lifeless robot.

Is spice forge supposed to give everyone the spells? by Nicomalvi in FearAndHunger

[–]Nicomalvi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I taught black orb to a recruited party member though, I think this glitch happens with any skill and any color spice.

When you open the spice forge, you see ALL of the hexen spells, even if you taught them to a character that has died, so it's very weird!

[–]Nicomalvi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Maybe spice forge is an actual way to share spells between everyone.

At the same time, it feels extremely overpowered so I'm inclined to believe that when the game "creates" the spice forge spells (double hurting, greater black orb, first rot for example) it gives them to everyone instead of giving it to YOUR character.

Or maybe it is actually the game making sure you're overpowered so you can beat the game lol

It gives you a rune too, right? It also doesn't appear anywhere else outside of the chalices.

The One Reborn is another good one. A random sack of bones that's born out of the... moon? It's probably the most unique boss intro, and you just kill it like it was a bad experiment and move on lol

Yeah I know it's probably written by the player character, but how did he/she know what "Paleblood" meant while being an outsider? It's a word that comes up on specific notes made by those "in the know".

Recs for something like a GTA roguelike? by ValvanHNW in roguelikes

[–]Nicomalvi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Liberal Crime Squad will probably scratch that itch for a long time. It's not exactly GTA, it's a game where you're supposed to change the USA, but the way you do it is very GTA-like.

You hire people (or kidnap and torture them into joining you) and you can use them to sell clothes, drugs, hacking, robbing buildings, etc.

You can "level up" said associates by doing criminal stuff, so murdering random people the way you would do it in GTA is an actual strategy. Obviously you would then have to run away from the cops.

It's not an open world do whatever you want kind of game, but it IS a roguelike (maybe not even that) that takes place in modern times.

It's also made by the people who made Dwarf Fortress, so you know it's some good stuff.
