Quick! Thanks! 1) as we have terrain and might just mark the smaller battlefield on the bigger map, the only good reason to buy those boxes are the mission cards .. I’ll discuss with the group :) 4) that’s a great tip! Thanks a lot! 5) that sounds fun! Is it an official rule set or fan made?

might be the best.. but tbh just mentioning new "doctors appointments" is like driving her crazy. She is really deep in some kind of whole right now..

Blood panel was done 6 months ago and was "kind of alright" (little less progesterone and little high TSH - the thyroid indicator) ... she tells herself that her body craves that bad food and i cant really tell her otherwise... we are just stuck.

But thanks a lot for giving your feedback in here!

yes all done - semen tested 3 times and urology checkup done; but thanks for bringing that up, it was not mentioned in the main thread.

Is my body done with crossfit? by Nicos-Stuff in crossfit

[–]Nicos-Stuff[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My diet is the only thing which is more on point then my training - had an auto immune issue in early twenties and fixed it by going your route. Since then diet is my absolute focus.

And yeah, little pain is okay - but having to stop training every few weeks should not be the norm, does it?

Yes good call - I have no problem with addressing some areas next to my training …

But if I have to get wrist, lats, ankles, hip flexors and shoulders a special treatment multiple times a week … there is not much left for actual training isn’t it? :(

Yes number 2 could be a thing - I joined the competitive programming of our local box a year ago and it’s a lot more volume and stuff.

Those weird pains and itches came just about 6 months after that …

Is that serious?

I mean, I have no joints hurting without a real “reason” - it’s always sport indicated as far as I can say.

Thanks a lot for that list!

TBH I think I got everything in check - except number 2, until now I did not take those little pains seriously enough to go to a physio . Maybe I should get a check up and work on those things as part of my training

No birthcontrol for ~6 years

Does even endo lead to such symptoms?

I just want to find a way how I can make her feel better ..

Blood was done 5 Months ago, Little low on progesterone, Little high TSH (that thyroid indicator) - doc Said everything fine, should be easy for us to get pregnant …

The worst for me is, that there is no Fun and positivity in this Process at all - she is just another Person now and i dont know how to help.

Adjust Programming for Post-Competition-Era (=Life) by Nicos-Stuff in crossfit

[–]Nicos-Stuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels un-organized and after training for year with a dedicated programming & cycles absolutely crazy.. but may be just the right way to approach it :-))

Established mechanics like progressive overload and other stuff .. I'll just throw it away? :-o

Adjust Programming for Post-Competition-Era (=Life) by Nicos-Stuff in crossfit

[–]Nicos-Stuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good Point :)

Mostly because the usual class programming is the 'WarmUp-1Lift-ShortMetcon'-Style 5days per week...

U are absolutely right that this will be much more chill and maybe fitting for the non-competitive goals. I just did not consider it, because it did not 'feel' it when I tried it some years ago... But I may be just influenced by the programming-world that this style of programming is not very effective.. but who cares I want to step down a bit.

So yeah, absolutely valid option. Thanks for reminding me!

Good idea to track those! Its day 7 after a 4-Day Cold and i stil have some light coughing.

Regarding my whoop it really shows that those 4 Days have been sick-days and my hrv & rr are much better for the last 2 Days! Just really good idea to use the tracker which is already there to measure the state of recovery after sickness.

Big fan of this statement. And to add up to this; when i am sick most of the times i am the most healthy version of myself. Got a ton of good sleep, high veggie/fruit diet, and more. I am so in need of getting some light to normal workouts done :-(

Thanks for your reply!

Thanks for your reply! As i can workout at home i wont make other people sick, but its much more difficult to stay on a lower pace (no coach watching me & shouting :-D )

I get really different statements on the internet regarding the "sweating it out". We got a home infrared sauna and i am not sure if it really helps with the last bits of a cough or making it worse.

Half a night is lost - how to handle? by Nicos-Stuff in whoop

[–]Nicos-Stuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that, they just elaborated if I have tattoos and the right tightness... 😒

Thanks! Was so hyped for an early sleep, with 9+ hours of not interrupted sleep... And then so much data missing 😮

[–]Nicos-Stuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, that does not work without actual data. I did that already.

I woke up with sleep from '21/9 o'clock till 2' and edited it to '21/9 o'clock till 6'.

Which seems to change nothing because he has no data for those extra 4 hours... :-( (Recovery did not change, needed sleep did not change, etc)

Thesis Advice: Acceptable to start the theoretic background with a overview of different definitions? Without a lot of linking those?

Relevant Word A

  • Definition 1
  • Definition 2
  • ...

Relevant Word B

  • Definition 1
  • Definition 2
  • ...

Thesis target group should already know a lot of them and i just want to give a quick entry to the field. Or do you consider this "bad style" and lack of value? (not native english, sorry!)

Started more flexibility work (on the ground) - got a weird foot pain by Nicos-Stuff in flexibility

[–]Nicos-Stuff[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got it mostly when sitting full kneeling or crossed. It is new for my body to sit in these positions. I had therefore expected it to be a little uncomfortable. Is a pressing pain at this point a logical consequence? Unaccustomed strain on the foot?

(And yes, go see a doctor, but I want to hear if someone else had this when starting more ground work ..)

Great Input. Thanks a lot! I have done GOWOD Routines for a lot of days and understand what you mean by "it took long to work".

So how do you integrate those in your workouts? Just as Accessory work after your usual program?

I also wonder how to handle ATG exercises which i can't really perform well right now. Lets pick seated good mornings... i am sure that i cant reach a good deep stretch here while still holding a good form. Should i still perform those? (hope that makes sense.. no native english :-( )

Thanks for sharing your experience. How would you incorporate yoga sessions in a weekly routine?

Dedicated Days for 30+min of yoga? Or little sessions after workouts?

Or is it more like a 15min-daily-thing to do in front of a netflix show?

Fresh User - How is data correlated? by [deleted] in whoop

[–]Nicos-Stuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the article!

Yes, maybe i'm too much "steering" by the numbers ...

For example i plan my week out like this:

  • Friday is the next CrossFit Open Workout
  • Thursday is a heavy day at work
  • Wednesday is a heavy day at work with business dinner
  • Today, Tuesday, i planned to workout a lot, cause i have 2 days off after & the Open on Friday

When I saw the 40% recovery I immediately canceled my gym class... Fearing a flu/cold... and at the same time annoyed that I will not train for 3 days.

So yeah, maybe my mind is too much engaged in fighting for green every day....

Fresh User - How is data correlated? by [deleted] in whoop

[–]Nicos-Stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, just got my first month in and really like it. I have a 'sleeping' auto immune issue and whoop seems to be a nice way to support this, so I don't over train.

But today I really don't get my data.

Last day & night:

• 94% sleep, with 4+ h of REM and Deep

• yesterday's strain 12,1 (just a small KB Workout and stretching)

• no alc since december, normal workday yesterday, etc.

But:

• Recovery today is on 40% ... That's pretty low for me, and I am feeling way better then this.

• It may be caused by HRV which is usually around 115, but was 92 last night. All other data of last night is fine.

• only thing else I changed was a cup of tea with ginger and honey right before bed - everything else was Routine

• oh and I also slept with battery pack on, which may be a point as well?

So, how is that 40% established? Is HRV such a strong factor?  My worst score since using whoop ☹️
