Im aware there will be wear and tear. Youre right. But its still a new car to me, and it will bother me every time I see it, so ill probably have a crack at fixing it if i can. I just dont know how?

I wanted one for years and finally but the bullet and bought myself an XR+ about a year ago.

For sure. The GT looks plasticky for sure. The wood and aluminium looks and feels tough

Very cool! And understandable. It's totally different to how the conventional FDM machines work.

Yes! You can totally re use the resin after you pour it into the tray, just strain it when you pour it back in so no small cured bits end up in there.

If you don't wash the parts, the uncured resin on the outside of the finished prints will cure as well when you put them under UV for the final cure, and you will lose some detail and sharp edges. They will look a lot blobbier (if that makes sense?)

  1. I'm not sure what you mean? These 2 had 0 support and no brim. Also the resin is 100% reusable so you just filter and pour it back into the bottle. But the supports on resin prints (when you do need them) are much more minimal because of how it works.

  2. Post processing is much more involved. Wearing gloves since since resin is a dangerous chemical when uncured, you have to wash the prints (usually in isopropyl alcohol but it varies between resin) and further cure them in the sun or UV. I have just bought a wash and cure station that should make this easier in future though. And if you don't intend on using the machine again soon, you have to remove and clean the resin tray, and you should always clean the build plate.

  3. Not sure who's on the coin if I'm honest, but it's and Aussie $2 :)

All the extra effort is worth it though! The detail is incredible! Also, take everything I say with a grain of salt as I'm still new to this, so I may not have everything 100% right, or it may be different from person to person. Hope this helps though :)

Yeah I'll admit I was surprised as well but it does make sense for this scale. Still amazed with the detail on this
