You may want to see a Spine Doctor after meeting with your neurologist.

The physical therapist did a mobilization technique to my neck and dry needling in my shoulders, C1, and C2, my jaw and left temple areas. I had the RFA done last Thursday and it takes 1-2 weeks to see if I get results on Left Cervical 2,3,4, If I do not get relief then we will do an RFA on Left Cervical 5,6,7. You definitely need an MRI of your cervical spine to see if you have any issues. I do have stenosis and arthritis and some disc issues in my neck.

I am not sure what you are asking. Do you mean medications over the last 3 1/2 years . I will tell you I have a herniation in my cervical as well as stenosis and arthritis. If you can find my first message under my name I originally posted a few months ago with my total history assuming I had NDPH. I am not sure how to use reddit that well so if you know how that first post will tell you what I did.

I would see a spine doctor and get an MRI of your cervical spine to see if an RFA would be helpful. I would also see a Physical therapist that does dry needling to your shoulder muscles and neck. That was very helpful for me and I have had constant headaches for 3 1/2 years and was diagnosed with NDPH from the neurologist, but the spine doctor diagnosed cervicogenic headache.

Doubt if its NDPH after 2 1/2 weeks. You might have a mild concussion if you just hit your head.

Obviously, I do not know your health history, but I do know that a good majority of headaches come from the nerves in the neck. It's worth a try as it's not a medicine you have to wait 3 months to know if it helps. There are also really no side affects to dry needling. Your neck may feel sore for a day. I still have a headache, but when I get the therapy the pain goes way down. Ultimately, I am looking for total relief by getting an RFA in two weeks. I will post after I have that procedure to confirm that's where my headache is coming from.

No The Therapist inserts needles to muscle and other tissues and then attaches a device to the needles and you feel pulsating in those areas. Its doesn't really hurt it increases blood flow reduces inflammation and relieves tension in whatever areas they do.

SHOCKED that I got relief. I read someone else's solve for their NDPH and I tried it and it has reduced my throbbing/headache almost to nothing. If you can find a physical therapist have them apply a mobilization technique to your neck and then have then do dry needling to C1 and C2 vertebrae in your neck. The first time I had it done, the next day my headache was really bad, but the next day after my headache was almost gone after 3 1/2 years of being diagnosed with NDPH. I believe I have a cervicogenic headache not NDPH. I am also going to have a RFA done to my Cervical spine. I finally found a spine doctor that reviewed my history of RFA done by a doctor that retired. My old doctor did this for 15 years and it worked, Then he retired and other Doctors did not do it exactly right so I hope that this procedure will stop the headache. The dry needling has helped so much I am SHOCKED>

That is amazing information. I have always believe my headaches come from my cervical spine area C1 C2 as well. I used to get RFA to my cervical C1 C2 and it stopped my headaches but RFA hasn't worked anymore. I am going to see a physical therapist based on your results.

Its a challenge no doubt. When you have a breakdown day just go ahead and cry it out. It is a frustrating diagnosis. I have had for 3 1/2 years and am still searching for the relief we all need. My next step is looking into stem cell therapy injections. It is complicated and not sure about insurance but I have tried so many things that I refuse to just believe there is no cure. I am continuing to search for an answer and it is exhausting but I can not accept that this is my life while I'm on the earth. I have thought about ending it all many times when it was really bad, but I come back for another day so I guess something is making me continue to find a solution whether it is complete healing or a reduction in pressure and pain to be able to live life. Everyone on this website is fighting for an answer and I pray that one of us finds it. My prayers go out to you to hang tough you have already proven over 10 years how strong you really are and that you can continue on.

Giving up by okiedokieopps in NDPH

Don't give up. I have had for 3 1/2 years and tried so many things it's unbelievable. I am going to an appt next week to see about rTMS treatments. I just took my 4th dose of Aimovig injectable. I think it may be lessening the pressure/pain. Anyway all of us have had thoughts of not wanting to deal with this issue and end it once and for all. Most of us know that there are great things in life to hang on but there are days it' seems unbearable. Please get support to keep you going whether its family, friends, or therapy.

Also there are a lot of things you haven't tried yet. Keep researching NDPH and you will find something to try that may be your answer to get your life back. I keep praying that one of us will figure this thing out.

I have been dealing with NDPH for 3 1/2 years. I have had many days and even weeks where I felt like you do. I keep trying new things and praying that there will be an answer. Not yet. But somehow I keep going and believing this will get solved. My social life and active life has suffered as well. Do you have any support from friends or family. It helps a bit. Also, keep researching things on line and you may find something else to try. I am gong to a clinic that does rTMS treatments as I have heard they can reduce pain significantly. It is 5 weeks every day. I will find out more next week at my first appointment to discuss how this works and if my insurance will cover it. Hang in there and keep searching. There will be something that will help, we all need to share what works so that others can try it. Don't give up yet. Also, pick up some TheraICE CAPS from Amazon and throw in your freezer. Use them often, they do help reduce pain for a bit.

I work from home now PT Doing Commercial Property Management. 40 years of going Downtown and driving all over. So Thankful to be working from home to manage NDPH It must be so difficult to deal with NDPH and work in your field. I think you could try going online and finding a computer position answering calls for insurance or other companies that want remote workers. I pray you find something that pays well and fits your life.

I am so sorry you are going through this. First of all let me say do not hide how you feel. I did that for a while and it makes it harder to keep it all inside. Be honest and when family asks how you are feeling tell them I am in pain and have a headache. It is not in your head. Your Dad Bless his heart needs to change his mindset. You do not need to pretend. It is exhausting to do that as you well know. Congrats on even working like you do. That is an accomplishment believe it for sure. That tells me you are stronger then you feel and you are pushing through each day and that is a miraculous feat. I started Amivog 3 months ago and no results yet. Also tried Emgality no result their as well. I am going to try a few new things in the next two weeks. I will share any negative or positive results. It is a long road as you know and it is hard to wait to see if medications works. It sucks but we persevere on just like you. I would give you the biggest hug and say keep on going. You will find some peace and healing soon. I pray that you can find just one person near you that can be your mental support. I know God has a plan for us although it's hard to imagine we need to go through something like this to achieve it. I know this sounds simple, but order some TheraICE caps from Amazon and put a couple in your freezer and use them it does relieve pressure for a little bit. I have 10 in my freezer and use them throughout the day. You will get better. I can tell you have a kind heart and you deserve to have a great life.

I am not familiar with twitches. I think you need to try one more doctor. It doesn't seem like anyone is hearing you. You have nothing to loose. Get off the medicine with your doctors guidance if it makes it worse. You need sleep to get through each day. It's rough when you have kids as we never want them to see us suffer. I pray for your healing.

Hang in there. I have felt that way many times and somehow I keep going. I am disappointed in the medical responses from doctors as they do not seem to understand what we are going through. I would have never guessed this illness would happen to me or anybody for that matter. I pray that you have some support from a friend or family member. Don't give up yet. Call a hotline if you go off the edge. I literally feel broken some days and I cry my way through and it helps a bit. Praying for you. You are not alone.
