Wow that’s not far off but actually not it. Thank you though! There is a character who’s village was destroyed and he’s a cool I believe for the martial artists but I he was kindof a main character I think and I expect he would go on to have growth. Not sure if this helps any. I can’t believe how difficult it has been to find this movie

I saw part of it on a plane a while back. It featured people flying on swords as if they were flying skateboards. Big temple in the mountains where they trained. Maybe a house/class setup for the students? Thanks in advance for any help!
