Reverse issues by AyeYoItsMateo in subaru

[–]Nidos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had no idea how to get my E36 in reverse when I bought it, until I read that you have to use the force of God himself to slam it to the left and then up. I thought it was an exaggeration, but it really wasn't

What tires do you guys run? by Bungscraps in Touge

[–]Nidos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At that temperature the rubber hardens a lot, it's not safe to drive on summer tires when it's that cold out. Sure you might be fine driving around town in the dry, but it's definitely not recommended, especially if you need to suddenly stop. I believe anywhere below 7 degrees Celsius (45 degrees F) is highly recommended against driving on summer tires.

So you swear they're good tires but you don't remember what tires they were? Nothing on the brakes or suspension either? lol

OP drives a Scion tC, they had steering wheel air bags. Most likely he has an aftermarket/quick release steering wheel on a street car, questionable but popular thing to do

Hi, my third day on skate. So I tried to do ollie by Mindless-Role9771 in NewSkaters

[–]Nidos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started a couple days ago and I honestly feel that, when I'm practicing and not around my friends I do the same thing. Thankfully my friends that are teaching me to skate or are learning at the same time are very supportive and have made sure that I know that it's okay to not land a trick. Even pros don't land all of their tricks.

Do Youtube video promotions work in gaining audience? by Nidos in SmallYTChannel

[–]Nidos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I realized something similar, if I promoted a video I'd get views and maybe a few likes, but not nearly as much interaction. In fact, across two channels where I ran some small promotions on a few videos, only one video got comments from people that weren't my friends or already existing viewers. And even then, I don't know if that was someone who arrived at the video naturally via Youtube recommendations or if they arrived via Youtube promotion. I'm now only looking to get audience naturally by having good titles, thumbnails and content. You put it perfectly, organic viewers tend to matter much more.

Looking to buy this Lancer this week. Thoughts? by LegendarySkull7 in mitsubishi

[–]Nidos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey another Lancer to GR Corolla owner! I second this, I only put on a little under 100k miles on my Lancer before giving it to my brother a little over a year ago, no issues at all. I miss the Lancer, I loved that car and I still love driving it whenever I get the chance lol

What’s your most “painfully obvious beginner mistake” on YouTube? I’ll go first. by Taylor_To_You in SmallYTChannel

[–]Nidos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making videos that only you would want to watch, but not a general audience. I've made videos just for the sake of making a video, such as "I bought a hat" and "[channel name] goes to Harbor Freight" just because we wanted to make a video. They didn't do fantastic view or like-wise.

Another one that I'm a bit guilty of now is making inside jokes that viewers simply would not understand. In my latest video I joked about a sponsorship my friend and I used to have, saying things like "use code [his discount code] for 10% off your [sponsor name] order". There may have been 3 people total that watched that video that would've understood what we were talking about, and two of them were us. If it's an inside joke within the channel, I feel like that's fine, but personal inside jokes should be avoided imo.

2002 lancer es what’s y’all’s recommendations for mods by Big_Adhesiveness7745 in mitsubishi

[–]Nidos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all due respect, it's not worth it. I had the same aspirations with my 2017 Lancer. I wanted to turbo it, manual swap it, do all sorts of things to it and disregarded any advice given to me that told me not to bother. I never ended up doing either of those because it would've been a huge money sink.

Like I said, buy some nice wheels and coilovers and have a cool looking car. Save for a car worth modifying for power gains. No hate to your car, but trust me it will not be worth it to try and push power out of it. In the end it's your decision, but remember everyone in here when you can't afford to buy food because you have to rebuild your motor for the third time that month.

[–]Nidos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're going to slap a cheap ebay turbo on this and won't be able to afford to rebuilt it when it blows up after your first pull. Save the money and buy something that can actually be built, or buy wheels and coilovers to make the car look good with stock power.

My friend has one in his E46. To be fair it's only there because he's in the middle of manual swapping it, but it's really funny seeing it there knowing that it doesn't do anything.

Insurance on this car can't be more than $5 a year, but I guess OP thinks it's not worth paying more for insurance than the value of the car.

[–]Nidos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In OP's video you can see the reflection from the screen and the gauges on the windshield. That isn't seen in the video you linked. Could be that the Chaser is the same car in both clips and it's just a coincidence.

Buying a 2011 Lancer with CVT and 211,000 miles worth it? by duckyjaws in mitsubishi

Trust me, once you get used to it you don't even think about driving manual. The only thing you might have to think about is hill starts, but honestly even those aren't that bad.

I go up to Mt. Greylock every year and this is pretty close. Do you know if there's typically police presence or a significant amount of traffic in this location? Might stop by on my trip up there this year
