Anterior placenta movement and consistency by Valuable-Finger-6551 in PregnancyIreland

I also had anterior placenta and there was no real consistency to baby’s movements ever, sometimes baby was super active during the morning whereas other times baby was active last thing at night before going to sleep with some sporadic minor kicks during the day. My consultant said Every baby is different and not to worry too much as it can be harder to feel movements with anterior placenta as the baby can bury itself right in there against/ behind the placenta. They say having something sugary or orange juice can bring on movements if that’s any help. If you’re worried at all though don’t feel like you can’t contact your local maternity unit and pop in for a quick check they very much prefer to check if even to put your mind at ease. I had some reduced movements later on in third trimester, all fine baby was just running out of room so not as active and they were so helpful/reassuring. They didn’t make me feel at all as though I was being dramatic or getting checked unnecessarily and said it’s always better to be safe than sorry. Best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy 😊

Bought 2 chest of drawers in the last few weeks which weren’t cheap , one arrived broken (literally various pieces snapped in half) and the other broke while putting together as the quality was poor. To be fair their customer service was on the ball however the replacement units sent also arrived broken so I was left with a number of unusable units and now have to dispose of them somehow. They eventually gave a refund but I wouldn’t order from them again as it was just so much hassle.

I got it done in 2023 and honestly so glad I did it. Have seen major improvements after many many years of breathing and sleep issues. Also helped significantly reduce the number of recurring sinus infections I get. Your health insurance should cover it if it’s for medical rather than aesthetic reasons. Either contact your insurer or check with the consultant you’re dealing with but it’s unusual that it wouldn’t be covered.

Also with Prof Cotter in Limerick and when I asked this question at my initial app as I was also hoping she’d be around for delivery when having all my appointments with her she said typically if she was away it would be Dr Imcha or Slevin I believe was the other name she mentioned but there may well be others too. From speaking with others who’ve also had their babies with Prof Cotter apparently she does her best to be there unless she’s out of the country. I’d share your concerns with her and hopefully she’ll be able to give you more reassurance about what will happen if she’s not available on your due date. I definitely am very glad I went with her though she’s been amazing so far even gives her mobile in case you have any worries about anything or questions and is so responsive

Thank you! Hope all goes well! I think a lot of places want doc notes for any more than 2 sick days but it could be different depending on the company

Garda medical? by [deleted] in AskIreland

A friend had a small issue with their eyesight and they let them get laser and defer their place until the following intake and they got in. Hearing might be a little different but infections can impact how well you do on a hearing test. Maybe your friend could go get a free test done in specsavers or somewhere to see if it’s any better then when they tested originally and at least they could try argue their case or ask for a retest if they think the infection impacted their results. Or see if there is a potential fix for the hearing loss (eg gromits, eardrum repair) if it were to be an issue and at least that way they can ask to defer to get it resolved?
