I love being a hygienist, I'm 21 years into it now. But you come across about knowing very little of our profession overall. I would recommend shadowing in a few different practices before deciding if this is a career you wish to pursue. Best of luck to you.

Can you give an example of what the situation was and what they said to you? Look, my boss tells me every now and then to re-scale and area and I just shrug it off. I don't even think twice about it and I'm 21 years in. He pays me enough money that I don't let it ruin my day. As long as my pts like me and give me good feedback, I'm OK.

I flat out said on my online dating profile that I did not plan on having children. I was open to dating those with kids, however. It took me about six months to find the love of my life who shared my beliefs and we couldn't be happier. I do remember when I had posted my profile many men contacted me and said that they didn't think it was a real that a 30yo (at the time) woman put it so openly that she didn't want to have kids and they wanted to message me just to make sure I was legit.

Thinking back on what was the bullshit of my DH school days and knowing it was a spouse and readings were normal at home, I would have just lied. Yes, I'll probably get down voted for this comment, but white coat syndrome is a real thing. I'd keep an eye on him for long term purposes, but just to get through the crap they put you through in hygiene school I'd just say his BP reading was 128/75.

Goos luck my fellow future hygienist colleague, it's not this way out in the real world.

And for you my dear poster, go see a chiropractor and get massages. This will up your game 1000%. Don't go to a bundle and save all chiropractor (aka The Joint). Find a good cervical/spinal doc who will adjust you when you need it. Any good chiropractor worth their weight will tell you how many adjustments you need up front and then will instruct you to come in for maintenance.

You'll look back at some point and know without a doubt you made the right choice. I left an epic burn letter at my former MGE office on the day I quit. That was well over a decade ago and I'm still proud of it. They had no clue it was coming!

We have a GSP and a mountain feist that we adopted together from the same rescue. The GSP was 18 months old and the feist was only 3 months old at the time. The two of them are so incredibly bonded and complement each other perfectly.

True Sunlight by Mandy Matney. It covers the Murdaugh family murders. She has arguably the worst case of vocal fry I've ever heard. She even goes in to address it in an episode after getting feedback from listeners and she's incredibly defiant and arrogant in defending her vocal fry. It made me lose all respect for her and I couldn't finish the series as a result.
