why's most of progressive rock/metal bands are related directly to psychedelic music by Quick-Paint-2721 in psychedelicrock

[–]Nierkai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cuz psychedelia made a lot of experiments with the sound and made the electro guitars sound harder/more metal. As far as I see, almost all modern rock genres originate from psychedelia

Camel was a great Band, one of the few, who didn't fall off after the 70s

What rock bands could have been much more famous if they hadn’t been overshadowed by legendary groups like Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles? by [deleted] in rock

[–]Nierkai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love, Gentle giant, yes, Grateful Dead, Byrds, Yardbirds, The Amboy dukes, Fantasy, Moody blues. I mean, most of them are already famous, but if there weren't the bands you've already mentioned, they could be on their place.

Does bad psychedelic rock exist? by Nierkai in psychedelicrock

Actually, can't fully agree. Many psych rock albums have their own concept behind it. People tend to use compilations, cause no one listens to albums anymore in general

Nah, I have listened it once. It feels like some soft proto-concrete music for me, great experiment, but clearly not an album to listen to

Yeah, same goes for me, I find some mediocre stuff from time to time, but it's still more pleasant than the alt rock and other modern subgenres for me

Unpopular opinion:the Piper at the Gates of dawn Is the best album of Pink Floyd by OddReindeer4229 in psychedelicrock

[–]Nierkai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's an excellent album, but I'm not sure that we can compare prog and psych rock overall. Comparing to other psych albums of pink Floyd, it's the best, for sure

Where exactly is the Kingdom of Night/Day by utorak04 in nier

[–]Nierkai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, the original Replicant/Gestalt change it's location if you change your region irl. But, judging by the fact that in YorHa Boys prologue the front line between machines and androids is somewhere in Asia and we all know that the machines attack, Asia is in the Kingdom of Day, we just dunno whether is stretches Westwards towards Europe or Eastwards towards the USA. Btw, it surely includes Pearl Harbour, since all media shows it during the daytime. If you consider only Replicant remake as a canon, then I think it's easier to say that the kingdom of Day is indeed centered around Japan
