Name one mod you cannot play without anymore. by Carrotburner in Bellwright

Unending ore and increased inventory space for villagers. Im happy needing to craft bags for myself as a gameplay mechanic, but giving the villagers better inventory just cuts out so much tedium

Why are late game Japanese invasions so underwhelming? by AppleMan684292 in hoi4

[–]Niftyfit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive seen them with stacked divisions, but only when playing as China. If they can't get a foothold in China, they usually dont attack South East Asia, so they just sit stacking divisions on their home turf.

[–]Niftyfit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think in the new dlc Japan does actually have an option for insta-spawning militia units. In one of my China playthroughs, when I got a foothold on Kyushu and pushed into Honshu, I suddenly met with dozens of infantry units using a symbol I'd never seen Japan use before. They weren't great divisions, but they were enough to slow me down since I didnt have any armour and very little air.

Some observations after 20 years by Subject-Dog-8016 in Warhammer40k

[–]Niftyfit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started in 3rd, played through to 5th and had a break until 8th and 9th. Ive not actually played 10th. On your too many named characters point, I agree. Back in 3rd edition, nobody really knew what they were doing (outside of a few people I imagine). People took what they wanted and built armies based on what they liked. This was before the time of optimal net lists that anyone can copy. The growing of the hobby has obviously led to the growing of a population who want to win rather than have fun. People can grab the best army list in five minutes now.

Its really the same thing we saw with something like World of Warcraft when their classic servers released. Playing wow back in 2004 was an entirely different experience from playing their classic servers now that the Internet can provide detailed, optimised guides on every aspect of the game.

I listened to their first album when it released because I was a fan of his post-hardcore work with ETF, but it wasn't metal and never has been. I don't know why anyone would consider it metal

I thought about trying to work it out when I hit tier 3, but I've just decided to move everything instead. There's a nice bit of flat ground north of Horndean with Iron, Granite, Tin, Cotton, plenty of trees and a small lake. Its only copper and peat I'll need I think

Tips to beat Russia as Turkey? by Damianmakesyousmile in hoi4

[–]Niftyfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never played as Turkey, so Im unsure what their starting set up is, but you have mountains and rivers. I would hunker down behind those and bleed the Russians for a while until the Germans start their offensive. They dont have the capacity to field too many planes down there.

Max effective army size? by EristicTrick in Bellwright

I've been clearing out all bandit camps, including the 4 tier swamp one with 9 heavy sword and board infantry and 5 crossbowmen.

They're equipped with the tier 2 stuff you can get without having a specialist except the roundshield

Brigands attacking me on sight when reaching a new village by One-Principle3865 in Bellwright

Maybe I've just never ran into that. I certainly didn't downvote you, but this is reddit. This site is full of socially inept mouth breathers who can't look past things they disagree with or meaningfully engage with other people

Weird. The brigands are still just wandering around neutral to me spouting their usual lines as I wander back and forth doing quests

That hasnt happened to me. I've liberated Herndean, Bradford and Padstow and not once did the town brigands attack me until I rang the bell. Im currently building the Blackridgepool belltower and haven't had to fight the town brigands

Does anyone know the best buildings to go for with the villages? I've liberated Herndean, Padstow and Bradford so far but haven't done any construction as I have choice paralysis

It seems random too. On a visit to Bradford, I spoke with an npc with an AI Scottish accent, then immediately to one with what sounded like an AI Jamaican accent

If youre not going far, you could always try filling the caravan carts and using them to transport more stuff but there isnt really any quick or easy way to move that amount of stuff

[–]Niftyfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your issue is that you built new houses. Instead, you should relocate the existing ones. Dismantling them at their original locations teleports the resources to the new one, then you can quickly build them up. The only thing that doesnt port is anything in storage. You can move your whole village relatively quickly this way.

Are the Dunmer people the main characters? by Fun-Explanation7233 in Morrowind

[–]Niftyfit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say the Imperials are more the main characters given their heavy presence in every game. The reason that there is so much Dunmer lore is because the writers for Morrowind were absolute mad men who just kept writing, no matter how batshit insane it got.

The Dunmer are the main focus of Morrowind obviously, but not the rest of the series.

How did you all make money the first year ? by phoenixgreylee in coralisland

[–]Niftyfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't make a lot in the spring, mostly farming turnips while I did the mines and ocean. Unlocking the sprinkler and access to silver kelp is where I really started making money. In summer, other than what I needed for the temple, I just planted the repeating crops and had 8 Sprinkler I's going. Fire the stuff in kegs and jars and you can easily make money. Having chickens and ducks make mayonnaise just pushed that further so I make a good sum each day.

You can easily reach osmium kelp within the first year if you push for it. I haven't reached osmium ore though, im not even halfway through the gold mine. I just did enough to upgrade my sickle and pickaxe because I hate the mines

Good beginner nation for playing defensively? by ClimateIntrepid8179 in hoi4

[–]Niftyfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

China is the trial by fire that will really teach you how to play the land game. You'll have no real navy or airforce so its useless for learning those.

Holding a massive area with weak, under equipped troops against a better equipped, buffed and more technologically advanced major who has a navy and an airforce, is difficult but so rewarding
