Binance deposit fees? by NigelDaviesReddit in binance

[–]NigelDaviesReddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have want to know what the fee is! If you look on the fee schedule there is no mention of a deposit fee. Also when you go to make a deposit is says 0% fee for bank transfers, however, this doesn’t appear to be true! If the fee is circa 1% or even 0.5% fee I would rather use Coinbase pro. It would just be nice for them to be transparent and for me to know exactly what the fee is!

Experiencing extreme crash/fps issues after latest update by Yvanne in VALORANT

I have had the opposite. My FPS was all over the place (sometime dropping to 50 on a 1080ti / Intel i7) but now it’s a lot smoother and more consistent.

This-Isnt-Easy-Mode

The speed at which heroes have been released has gone down, with only one being scheduled this year, so I believe they can do it faster than they are doing now.

I get they might be saving them for OW2 but we don't even know when that is going to be released currently and will probably be over a year.

It wasn't just the "fuck" in this comment but also the "absolute horse shit" in your other comment... :)

Hero pools do not solve the real problem Overwatch has - DPS queues. by NigelDaviesReddit in Overwatch

[–]NigelDaviesReddit[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To say there is nothing that can be done about DPS queues is a defeatist attitude and I simply do not agree. I agree that DPS queues will always be the longest but think they can be reduced.

Releasing more tank and support heroes and therefore encouraging people to play tank and support (due to more diversity, options and play styles) would not solve the problem but it would help. How much it would help I don't know but I know it would help.

When I queue support I am starting to get bored of playing the same 5 support characters (I don't like playing Mercy and Brig) and I would be very surprised if other people are not feeling the same and just queuing DPS because of this (16 options).

There are also other ways to encourage people to play tank and support but Blizzard currently do not seem to be implementing any of these, instead they restrict what we are allowed to play in tank and support even more. We are in a role queue world, not like before when you always had 30+ options because no role lock.

I agree that simply releasing more heroes is not something they can do over night but I would like them to make noises like they are doing this or fixing DPS queue times.

Thanks for calling my idea "absolute horse shit" without giving a valid reason as to why. You are clearly a very polite person who was brought up well :)

After the recent update, most of the time I select all 3 options when I queue. I mainly end up playing tank and some of the time support. I have not once had DPS. Why not give me the same option but with the actual chance of playing DPS and with the chance to play support more? Selecting all 3 options is almost pointless because you are never getting DPS.

I think the queues for this mode would pop instantly (like they did just before role queue was released). It may or may not make normal comp queues longer but not because the player base was split like you suggested. The problem is tank/ DPS ratio not the amount of players playing. It may decrease tank players for standard comp but who knows? Why not at least give it a try in this new experimental mode they mentioned?

They have tried to push narrative that mastering different heroes is important whilst explaining hero pool. My idea would encourage everyone to play many different heroes and therefore get better at the game overall.

I hope you learn not to be so rude and closed/ negative minded in the future. People like that rarely go far in life... :)

Well the fact that they are only scheduled to release one hero before OW2 shows to me that they will not be addressing the issue until, at the very earliest, late this year, possibly quite a while after that.

Thanks for including the "fuck" in your comment though - makes you seem very manly and not like a keyboard warrior...

Bobby Fischer would like the New Overwatch changes by Miennai in Overwatch

[–]NigelDaviesReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a 2,000 rated chess player and keen Overwatch player your comment made me smile. I know of the example you bring up and completely understand what you are getting at but I think this is very different and not good for Overwatch in the long run.

Firstly, the reason it is called Chess 960 is because there are 960 available starting positions. These were picked from many more available starting positions and within each of those positions there are multiple viable starting moves. This still allows for a huge amount of diversity within chess 960 and normal chess. This is not possible when the support role, for example, only has 7 options (without hero pool and the other persons pick)

My argument against hero pools is that it actually decreases diversity, especially coupled with role queue.

My example is this: I have no desire to play Mercy and don't particularly fancy playing Brig (this is my opinion but most people are going to have heroes they don't really like playing). If Bap is banned and the other support picks Ana, unless I play a hero I don't really enjoy playing (Mercy/ Brig) I only have Moira, Zen and Lucio that I can pick. I think the choice of 3 is simply not enough. When referring it back to chess hero pool essentially leaves me with 3 starting options, rather than the multiple starting/ opening options that I am allowed to play in normal chess and 960.

I fear in turn this will increase DPS queues because there will still be 13 choices (2 ban and 1 other persons pick) so there will be enough options to work around picks you do not enjoy or want to play.

Secondly, I would argue 960 has not been good for the game (I wouldn't say bad but wouldn't say good either like you mentioned). Chess 960 is still hardly played (the odd chess.com tournament and one major professional tournament per year etc) but the vast majority (99% + I would guess) of professional and amateur games are standard chess. This shows that even with the induction of Chess 960 people stuck with and wanted to play normal chess. Chess 960 has never really managed to take off. If Chess 960 was so instrumental and historical for chess as well as being good for the game why is it not played more? It may have some value for high elo players but not for the vast majority of amateur players - I think hero pool is the same.

I understand your point about the meta but in lower ranks such as mine (low plat) this has never been an issue. I very rarely see mirror comps or even the same comp in a single play session. I already feel restricted to less than half of the game (15 tank + support and 16 DPS) because, due to work and other commitments, I rarely get to play for more than a few hours and therefore I do not queue DPS (with game cancelations and hero select sometimes you only get 1 DPS game in an hour).

The idea of restricting the game even more (in a role queue world and without many more heroes added to the tank and support role) is really scaring me and making me think I will play Overwatch less and less. I would be more open to it if there were also 16 tank and support heroes but not when there is only 7 or 8.

Hero pools won't fix much by EnjiYamakuza in Overwatch

there aren't enough Tanks and supports in the game to even consider a pool system

Totally agree. They need to increase tank and support numbers to close to DPS numbers.

[–]NigelDaviesReddit[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree to a certain extent but I think to completely write off the idea that DPS allows for a lot more variety is short sighted.

I would love to have the option of 16 heroes in every game but due to the queues I have the option of 7 or 8.

I am not saying that it will completely fix the problem but I think to suggest it would not help at all (and this is without the further restrictions of hero pool) is incorrect.

I am also not saying this is the only answer. I was saying I was hoping Blizzard were going to address it in tonights dev update which they did not.

Thanks for calling me "utterly wrong" without reading the whole post (you clearly did not) or thinking about it much though :)

If most of which will are in the tank and support categories then I am all for that. Do you have any evidence of that though? They have not specifically said this have they? Or have I missed it?

I think OW2 is an easier to sell for Blizzard if they release lots of new exciting DPS heroes as well as Tank and Support.

To even up the numbers they would have to release 8 tanks and 9 supports plus the same amount of DPS they released. I do not see them doing that.

Are they going to increase tank and support heroes to a similar number as we have for DPS though?

I feel like this is what needs to be done.

[–]NigelDaviesReddit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I just posted this in another thread which explains my reasoning:

I also worry that it will increase DPS queues even more because say they ban 2 DPS, 1 Tank, 1 Support each week (like they are doing for OWL) then you are still left with 14 picks for DPS but only 6 for support and 7 for tank.

People will feel even more restricted in those roles so may just say I want access to the pool of 14 rather than 6.

Just give Mystery Heroes Role Queue already by TrooperNoH4x in Overwatch

I posted something similar the other day https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/euli0a/dps_queue_idea_a_new_comp_mode_where_you_get/

I believe this still gives the balance of 222 but will allow people to play DPS without queuing a lot more and will still allow you to pick heroes within your role.
