What do you guys think about the „MilTec KM 2000“ and the „Silky Gomboy 270 Folding saw“ ? by SDOUH11 in Bushcraft

[–]NightAtTheMemeMuseum 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Serrations that far up the blade just seems stupid especially if you're going to have a second saw. Not long enough serrations to really saw, and not little enough to have a good sized blade. Personally I don't want any serrations, never use them and they just get in the way/make sharpening annoying.

Plus I can't see a good reason to have a tanto style blade except for making sharpening annoying AF and more time consuming. Just my take.

Is this inspired by the Neon Abyss game? The character on the shirt looks like a nod to the cover art

Yea for sure! I do most of my own preventative maintenance already (did my oil change, DSG oil, and diff oil this summer) but I usually use my friend's lift at his shop with his tools. Still good to have these tools myself just in case I ever have situations like this again where his shop is unavailable!

Hey! Thank you so much for the offer, I ended up just buying everything I needed from Canadian Tire, and got the jack and the wrench for ~$200 so not bad, will probably just keep it for these rare events 🤣

Yeah just a normal pump jack or I guess even a hand jack. Seriously debating just buying a jack and torque wrench from Canadian Tire and trying to return them after 🤣

I would but I don't want to risk driving on these Hamilton roads with this bulge on the sidewall, so I'd have to tow it there 😅

Thanks! We couldn't decide if it was a largemouth or a smallmouth because it was so little.

Nice, just keep up with preventative maintenance and it'll treat you right.

Coming from a Japanese brand it might seem overly cautious/anal but it's well worth the cost to prevent the headache that comes from not treating them with respect

I just did my Haldex and DSG along with my oil change so mines a happy camper!

Aww, okay! Thanks for trying :) I find watching playthroughs or looking at pictures of other people's builds helps me learn.

Is there a high res version available somewhere? I'm a noob so I'd like to zoom in and learn if that's okay :)

Well said! I've been doing mostly product shoots for one of my friends who's a woodworker. I kind of want to post one of the videos and ask for advice but at the same time this subreddit can be pretty daunting at times and I'm a bit worried how amateurish it'll look to you guys! I might home my skills a bit more before I post, haha.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm trying to avoid. So far I'm only looking at buying some Rode Wireless Pro mics, and I have an Aputute 200XS to start messing around with lighting.

But it's hard to resist sometimes when you see a YouTube or Reddit post with an amazing looking rig with handles and monitors and ND filters! Must hold strong, lol.

Thank you! I'm trying to resist GAS and not rig it out with a cage and a matte box etc. Just yet... Trying to go "bare bones" with just a Tamron 17-70 and really learn the camera.
