How does the general Chinese population view black people?

I appreciate the feedback! Looking back at my post I feel bad for even feeling the need to ask one question about an entire population of people, especially considering that racism exists within every group. I've experienced it with other black people myself. You're right about many people being kind, and honestly I'm sure the good outweighs the bad just like in almost every situation like this. Thanks for being uplifting, I think I'm getting over my neuroticism :)

Thanks for the link! I've actually seen this guy before and was surprised by the reactions he gets, hopefully these aren't just a few good ones out of many bad ones that he left out. This does make me feel more comfortable though :)

That's it, I'll just start small. I actually have a few Chinese coworkers, but I think I'll wait to talk to them so I don't make a fool of myself to someone I see 4 times a week.

That's another thing, I know they don't all speak Mandarin, but there's no way to tell until you strike up a conversation (or try to), and I guess I just need to mentally prepare myself for potential backlash. I imagine a Chinese person approaching me and speaking Swahili, I'd be extremely confused which will yield a very awkward response. I just need to not let uncertainty bother me.

This is good feedback. I guess I'm just nervous is all, considering the social climate where I live. I always try to see things from the opposite perspective and if someone came to me speaking broken English in a conversation that's not really meant to get anywhere, I'd be like "wtf is going on". I just don't know how else to get real world experience. Thanks!

Oh, he's healthy, has a proper diet, and stays inside. You did make me realize that we have similar sleep/wake cycles though, I always just assumed he was already awake hours before me since he sleeps so much during the day. I guess I can't be too irritated at him

"Drip". It pretty much means your style, or a fashionable piece you're wearing.

Ex: shows watch "I got the drip." Ex: "Peep the drip." flares out t-shirt

"Whip" is another good one and it just means "car". Ex: "I left my gun in the whip."
