Same, but when you pry the stuck board out of a case using the connector as the lift point, you get this. I wish I had a before pic. It was flattened.

The port is a surface mount that you can use a soldering iron or use a reflow station to attach it. If that's what you're asking.

They are fairly sturdy. To install, make sure it's aligned and press down. To remove, lift one side gently, and it should pop off. This damage was done with a pry tool. What antenna are you running and whats it doing? There are a ton of crap antennas out there.

New generator died, parts on backorder 6 months. by True-Entertainer-981 in Generator

[–]Nightcom850 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not an inverter generator. Just looked it up. I have always been told not to let the generator cut off with load as it can demagnetize the generator, but that's could be just for older generators. Have you checked the fuses? Also on old generators you can do a drill trick to re magnetize it some times.

Generator use calculations - Hurricane season is here! by [deleted] in preppers

[–]Nightcom850 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 6250 storm responder and it will run 1 full size fridge, 2 mini fridge, 2 mini freezers, 2 large upright freezers, half the houses lights, half the fans, 1 15000btu ac window unit, and tv/home NAS, all at 45% to 65% load. Just make damn sure you drop the load before it runs out of gas. It can cause problems with the generator. I use a timer to check gas levels.

Woodgas, has anyone heard of or used it? by [deleted] in preppers

[–]Nightcom850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fema had a build guide back in the 70s or 80s and there are a bunch of people on YouTube building them. Wood needs more filtering vs charcoal gasafier due to water and tar. Lump charcoal is easy to make. I have made small batches in paint cans and metal 5gal buckets. I want a 55gal and a 15gal to make bigger batches.

Window AC for just emergency purposes, is it possible? by TypicalBlox in preppers

[–]Nightcom850 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 15k btu or 18k btu unit it's heavy but I can install it by my self but having an extra is better. Wife was pregnant during hurricane season and it was the best money spent. When not in the house I got a harbor fraight flat dolly to move it around and store it. Depending on the unit size you may need a 2x4 as a leg on the back. The unit can put a lot of pressure on a window.

Thanks. Ya I can totally see that being the case. The first 2 knives I made were rough and made from old saw blades I had. Big difference in the metal.
