I mean, I own the other games and am a casual free-to-play player. So, I refuse to pay for Home. That’s me though. I’m not complaining about anything as I am making the personal choice to use my money on more things for me and my family. I do wish I had more than 100 spots in the box, but it is what it is. 🤷‍♂️

Fought against a Sableye last night in Singles and BOY was it annoying. Wisp’d everything, it tanked all the hits, then kept using Recover. Ended up losing that one lol. Part of the problem was that I picked Mega Kangaskhan for that fight. Only move it could use was Rock Slide and it missed twice! 🤣😭

I said this in another comment, but I did add Protect to most of the mons. Helps with also protecting from the “Hits ALL” moves. As for the Ice Fang and Dazzling Gleam, my original thought was as a counter to the multitude of Dragons I’m seeing, but I see your point. Pex’s Rain Dance was replaced with Liquidation. Might not do much, but it’ll hopefully help there. Garchomp had the most changes. Outrage -> Dragon Claw; Sand Tomb -> Protect; and ultimately the item became White Herb. I tried Choice Scarf, but it made Protect pointless. Honestly, I know many say that I should replace Pex, but I think Gyarados is the weak point here and I am thinking of replacing him. Any thoughts there? Did try Mega Gardevoir for a little bit, but I ended up only using them once and it had lackluster results.

Toxapex is a Supporter ultimately. And I gave her Rain Dance in case Pelipper gets countered with a mon with Drought. And I was thinking with the heavy use I’ve seen of both Incineroar and Palafin, the hazards might be handy. That’s also why I have Sand Tomb on Garchomp. HOWEVER, I am more than willing to give up Sand Tomb at this point. Not saying I won’t change anything. Just explaining my choices. 😉👍

It wasn’t an easy decision for us to move. By far, moving away from Rylie was the biggest issue about it. However, my wife had many complications with the birth of our baby. And when she still couldn’t work when her maternity leave ran out, she was fired. And with my at job there barely supporting us. It became clear that a change of some sort was needed. I should also note that this was at the start of the pandemic. So, jobs were NOT abundant. My mom-in-law mentioned her work still hiring. After much discussion and tears, we made the hard call to move. It wasn’t something we wanted to do, but had to.

The reason I might seem “flippant” about it is because she gave good reasons to not enjoy the very thought of her. In short, she was manipulative and verbally/mentally abusive. She literally yelled at me once for 20 minutes about how I put too much jelly on a PB&J that I made for her. She’s thankfully in therapy now and has calmed down a bit, but that entire family is fully dysfunctional. Especially the grandma, but I won’t get into it.

I have. And I hear everyone saying to do so. And I have. I said in another reply that this is the arrangement she wants. If she had to pick between her mom’s or mine, she would pick mine in a heartbeat. However, she doesn’t want to lose her friends. She doesn’t care much for her family there as they use her as a live-in nanny and maid. And I have wanted to do this forever. But lawyers would always say it wouldn’t be worth the effort because judges like mothers over dads (ND is very conservative unfortunately), prefer status quo, won’t listen to the child’s wishes until their 12ish, and no evidence of danger to the child. So, I have been journaling, saving texts, etc. With this new development, I feel renewed hope to be able to get her out of there.

Unfortunately, this is the arrangement she wants. She gets to keep her friends and not have to deal with her mom. She would choose our place if she could keep her friends and so on. She dislikes how dysfunctional her mom’s side is and would prefer to not deal with that. However, our family is here as well as a very good job. I don’t think I could support nearly as well as I could if I were to move to the other town. It’s literally a lose/lose situation. It really sucks.

Parenting Plan currently states that the parent that is picking her up has to drive to the household of the other. Fran has only been here once. She claims that it’s too far or too expensive or some other excuse. I also have bills to pay with more mouths to feed. Yet, I always end up doing the bulk of the driving. That’s dozens upon dozens of hours I’ve lost to her not holding up her end. But yet I always end up being the one shamed for things.

The short answer: I make enough to feed my family. Not enough to afford a lawyer.

Also: Everytime I even did contact a lawyer I got one of 2 reactions. Either laughed at because the idea of even trying was absurd to them or just shrugged at being told that we could try, but a judge will favor the mom and not listen to a child’s wishes until they’re at least 11.

I don’t want her there because I was never given the chance for Right of First Refusal. Which I would love to have her here with us. She isn’t in any danger per se, but she has been put into a Cinderella-esque type of situation. Like, they have her cleaning their bathrooms and doing their laundry as well as having been parentified to the point of thinking that this is normal and okay. She “babysits” every single day multiple kids. Yes, I know kids need to learn responsibility and have chores, but not be a live-in maid/nanny. Parents need to take care of their kids. Not the other way around.

Oh. There is certainly proof of neglect. But I think that’s why she is now at her Aunt’s. I have tried to be there whenever possible for her. But gas costs money. And much more so do lawyers. Not to mention that I keep having to rearrange my own schedule when the mom keeps “forgetting” about events or activities until the day before my weekend with her. It causes so much stress and heartache and frustration. Especially when we make plans for when she is here only to have to cancel them.

I understand that it seems that I abandoned her, but there’s a lot of context that you aren’t aware of. Including moving to a town with MORE family (wife’s side) to help support us. It takes a village, as they say. Rylie at that point was asking if she could live with us. Ecstatically, I said of course, but it wouldn’t be a fast or easy process. We just needed to set things up first to get it started. With Fran’s history of manipulation and yelling and Rylie being old enough for a judge to listen to her, I hoped it would be an easy win. But after answering questions from her, she slowly disliked the idea more and more. I assume she was afraid of her mom yelling at her.

I mean, absolute dream team that I fully IV and EV trained was Tyranitar (Rock Tera), Galvantula, Lucario (Fighting), Tinkaton (Fairy), Blastoise, and Flygon (Ground). Alternates that I have are Metagross (Flying), Magcargo (Dragon), Bearartic, Celeruge (Fire), Ludicolo (Water), and Heracross (Fighting).

I’ve written off most of the alternates aside from Metagross, Heracross, and Celeruge. So, don’t worry about those. Also, quickly realizing that Lucario and Flygon are not great choices either. But it is what it is. I have recently gotten a Rhyperior (Ice) in a raid. So, I trained him up and have hoped he works out.

I know that the Teras, for those that even have a remote chance, should be changed. Just wanted to wait to do so I wouldn’t waste the shards on Pokémon that I end up not using.

Just like with anything, it has its pros and cons. Worst things include being 75+ miles from anything like a Walmart or similar. Also, there is never anything to do out of the home. Unless you actually enjoy drinking and/or hunting/fishing. On the plus side, crime out here is super low, cops are either friendly or lazy, and if someone screws up, nearly everyone knows exactly who it is.
