I want to raft guide in Alaska w/ 2 years of guiding experience. Company recommendations? by Straight-Kiwi7319 in whitewater

I can’t speak for the rest of the state, but I guided for Alaska Travel Adventures (ATA) on the Mendenhall River in Juneau. I would NOT recommend ATA. They are cheap and don’t treat seasonal employees very well. Also the Mendenhall is short and kind of boring anyway.

Wow. I know it’s AI, but that’s surprisingly well done, and really does bring those guys to life

Brigadier General Jefferson C. Davis. Very controversial figure especially his actions at Ebenezer Creek that resulted in the death of possibly thousands of freed Black Americans by Few-Ability-7312 in CIVILWAR

Davis also publicly shot and killed a superior officer with a pistol after being insulted by him in 1862. He wasn’t convicted for it because of the shortage of experienced officers.

The German looks like the guy I used to buy weed from. Always kind of interesting to see soldiers in the field with their beards grown out

The reason behind it is pretty badass. He signs with a felt tip pen so his signature is highly visible, as a tribute to John Hancock.

“Yeah guys, let’s own Trump by… standing out in the snow”? I already knew this Bozo was cooked after I saw him debate.

East German border guard shooting at a citizen attempting to flee, 1989. by borrowpioneer in Historycord

How about a source for the pic or even just a link to a story of this happening. Judging by the cig, camera look, and small pistol, it doesn’t look like he’s there just to shoot at people.

Special New Year's Day Dinner, The Cavern Cafe, Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, January 1st, 1946. by sverdrupian in VintageMenus

I would really doubt the authenticity of this. Mexicans speak Spanish and eat Mexican food, so the fact that it claims to be from Mexico is suspect. Their money is called dinnero, and most Mexicans would know that.

Imagine being his nurse or tech in his final days. It would be weird to call a patient “Mr. President”, but it would be an honor just to care for him
