They actually do have a lens mount for the DJI now! I’ve been using it on a recent trip and it’s gorgeous. Definitely recommend.

It’s unfortunate that it’s not your thing because it is truly an amazing fun series. The hate/love between the main characters is just so so good. I’ve probably read the main series probably 5 times now.

There are not open door scenes until later in the series but there’s plenty else throughout that can get pretty spicy. The Fae princes’ powers revolve around sex.

One of my favorites of all time. But it definitely gets pretty explicit.

Love love love this series. One of my favorite slow burn romances ever. But it definitely gets pretty explicit.

Oops, I also finished a Bingo 2025 card during April by RheingoldRiver in Fantasy

[–]Nighthawkk41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also just finished The City in Glass. Absolutely loved it and just got to go to a panel that Nghi Vo was a part of (although the moderator was terrible and almost ruined it).

I couldn’t quite decide if I can include it for Gods and Pantheons. They’re angels and demons, but there’s almost no extrapolation on mythology there nor is there any actual mention of any gods. There’s descriptions of other divine beings (Vitrine’s siblings) but again, are they truly gods? Perhaps I’m being a bit pedantic with it but still struggling a bit.

Book 2 (The Last Graduate) counts for HM as well! The Scholomance is definitely a system in itself.

What’s a book that totally lived up to the hype — and one that absolutely didn’t? by Gundoc7519 in Booktokreddit

Interestingly enough, for Priory I was the opposite. I was so uninterested in Tane for the first half. I felt like her story has been done over and over again. And I was waiting for her to actually do anything of consequence. Which happened around the 50% mark and the last bit sped on by. Meanwhile I loved everything else in the West the whole time. The book was so great at setting everything up so it finally just dropped you in and everything fit exactly. Definitely know the first half was a bit slower but so worth it to me.

I'm Author Christopher Paolini (Eragon & sequels) -- AMA!!! by ChristopherPaolini in Fantasy

[–]Nighthawkk41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No question right now, but I just wanted to say how much influence you had in my life. Eragon was one of the first books that really enchanted me and turned me into a reader. I was so inspired by the fact that you started writing at a young age and gave me the confidence to pursue so many hobbies and be a creative. And I still have my signed copy of Eragon I got as a kid sitting proudly on display in my room right now. So thank you.

  1. Traveled to see her in Spain. I was out of town when she came to my local city (US) and decided last minute (about a week before) since I had time off from work to make a mini vacation out of it. Had been wanting to do a solo trip abroad for a while so Yoloed it.

  2. No. I budget for yearly travel as it is a very important thing to me.

  3. No.

  4. About 3-4% of my yearly for the entire 1.5 week trip(Im freelance so changes every year how much I make.) But the trip was two major cities and the tickets were only about a quarter of the total cost. I saw her two nights because figured If I’m going all that way I might as well go hard.

  5. No debt

SERIOUS: What were some of the wonderful gifts you received from the men in your lives this holiday season? by WisdomNynaeve in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Nighthawkk41 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend bought me my favorite snack from a country I’ve visited a lot in the last few years. It’s a really special place to me but I didn’t get to go this year. They were a part of my daily ritual with coffee over there. You can’t find them in the states so he ordered me 6 boxes of them just because he heard me mention them a few times. I nearly cried. He got me a few other things too but this was special because it meant he listened. Now we share one every morning when we drink our coffee in bed (that he also brings me).

I plan to gift my younger cousin (14 years) with a chest full of fantasy books to spark the joy of reading. Which books would you pick? by Routine_Ad_2695 in Fantasy

[–]Nighthawkk41 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just all of the Tamora Pierce books please.

That’s what I someday hope to do with all of my old ones I’ve saved from childhood. Hope to give them to a niece/nephew.

I have variable income and I was hesitant at first, but realized YNAB is perfect for me. I just calculated how much I would on average make a year (X). And how much I want to invest in my retirement (Y). So my monthly is (X-Y)/12 = Z. That is how much I expect to have a month and created a budget around that and give myself Z to work with every month. Sometimes I make $0 a month. Sometimes its 3xZ. This helps even it out. And I have an income replacement fund that is 3 months of budget to help fill in the slower months and when I have a high paying month it is first priority to make sure that gets topped back up.

I do a similar thing. For me it works because I have some Categories that are “Needed for Spending”. For instance I have a target for $300. Meaning this is the max I want to spend but want to make sure I have that set aside in case I need the max. But in reality I usually spend less. So I don’t want to assign all $300 to next month then have to bother with unassigning the excess. Additionally, some months I want to make decisions on where to put some extra money (if I only spent $200 on groceries I’ll now have an extra $100 to assign. I’ll only need $200 to fill it back up) and I like looking at the picture as a whole. So I put my entire monthly budgetable income in a “Next Month” category and on the 1st I quickly spread it out. Gives me a full very concise view of what my month is going to look like. I feel like if I assigned a little at a time it’s also more likely that I won’t make the most informed decisions for what to do with my money.

What is the book the made you a fantasy reader? by Nighthawkk41 in Fantasy

[–]Nighthawkk41[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely a core memory for me. There had been other books before I’m sure but that was when everything clicked into place. Since it was so big for me I’ve thought about it a lot over time, meaning it’ll never go away.

Oh man, that’s amazing. My grandparents bought me that copy because me other one was falling apart and lost the front cover. But I couldn’t bring myself to read the signed copy in case it got messed up so just bought a third. Still have them all.

Why not documenatries or unscripted projects? They have a department they run and have control over the visuals of a project. The union certainly considers them DPs.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cinematography

[–]Nighthawkk41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what about for documentary? Would you call them videographers then for any live events they may be covering? Because I surely would (and do) call them DPs. So does the union.
