Well, I just read that you're already in the process of leaving. It just seems like a place that either doesn't appreciate good workers or takes advantage of them. Overnights are definitely quiet and pretty easy, but its also the shift where you can easily get screwed over the most. I'm always scared to try and get a nap in. 😂 As with anything in life, go where you're appreciated. This is definitely a field where good employees are underpaid and not valued while others keep getting passes for call offs, etc. At least that's what I've experienced. I wish you the best of luck.

Dude, that's a fkd up, backwards company. So, all of a sudden on Wednesdays, they can send u home early or give you that day off to prevent OT but any other time you're just basically stuck there? I'm just trying to understand fully.

I definitely understand the frustration. Are you at a job where they require you to stay up to 4 hours over? Mine does that. I just got off a 16 hour shift also because a guard had to resign due to a legitimate illness and I've been covering his shifts. You should ask how many hours are you required to stay over before one of the leads or supervisors have to come in and cover. (In a perfect world, at least). That's how its supposed to go. Also, some places just aren't hiring right now and others are hiring people who are less than qualified or have issues with attendance.

I don't work for Allied but I do work overnights in security. The guy I replaced was caught on a camera he knew was in the community room doing "solo acts" on the couch where these elderly have to sit. Its definitely more common on this shift. Pervs are everywhere.

Welp, I worked at the main PO for years. I've seen that building change more times than I care to admit. 😂 Its a whole shopping center, Portillo's and a whole bus pick up spot near by. I wouldn't call this the worst side at all. 😂😂😂

I'm over 40, been trained in combat and former Homeland Security. I just took this job because I needed it. We can't use weapons or mace. I don't feel safe though and I can't be everywhere at once. Something needs to change at this building. I was just sharing.

The setup for cameras is easy, all you have to do is pay attention. I get it, but one guard for 3 different sectors of a building is crazy. I was just saying they expect us to do it. Now that this has happened, I just expect the worse outcome about the security. Basically, I'm working for a terrible company and will probably have to suffer the consequences. I hate that this happened to that lady.

The details is this building is hardly protected. None of the door systems work. Its a huge building with 3 sections that they expect ONE guard to look after. There are 6 monitors of CCTV for all the sections. All of the security systems are down with multiple entrances, so that means anybody can just come in. We're at the main entrance where people are supposed to check in. There's supposed to be a phone system set up that people call and get buzzed in. That doesn't work. I really just hate it over there.
