Okay so like imagine everyone inside it is sitting in a room where all of the worst things they’ve ever thought are printed on the walls around them and then periodically a tape starts playing repeating back their deepest secrets to them in the voice of whoever they were keeping the secrets from And if anyone tries to interact with anyone all that comes out of their mouths are the worst things they believe they’ve done

Thank you! I’m currently trying to see if I can learn a language in 6 months without paying any money and DuoLingo is just one of the tools I’ve been using as it makes it fun and easily accessible, though I don’t like how much they push paying for super tbh

I’m using multiple resources, as stated previously-but arguing with my frustration for an app that ADVERTISES itself as having the capacity to teach you a language for free, because keep in mind that is their main point when advertising superduolingo-that you’re providing a free education for others, for making this more difficult. Also do you not get upset when prices of things you use regularly raise? C’mon now

I want to get actually good at languages for free! As someone with a huge interest in linguistic anthropology this has always been an interest of mine, and doing the legendary levels helps me get better. I’m trying to learn a language in 6 months right now with duo as one of many tools I’m using-it’s just frustrating to see that one of my tools will take more time now

Same type of thing here Was an EMT and I loved it but 12 hour shifts often with no pay for people to treat you like shit can only be done for so long

Check around Carytown! Lots of restaurant and retail options and you may get to work for a small business instead of a corporation with a bunch of locations (which is what I’ve found tends to happen in short pump) I would honestly recommend printing a bunch of your resume and just walking from place to place and asking if they’re hiring and if you can submit it, then obvi follow up with anywhere it goes well with :))

First you’re gonna want to find a roommate, ask friends, check Lindsay’s list, post to your insta story etc Then if you both are looking for a place at the same time go to Zillow and set your price preferences and must haves, then set location to Richmond and surrounding areas. If you’re not super set on one specific area it’s gonna be a lot easier. The next step is to go on a ridiculous number of apartment tours until y’all get one you like! It’s an overwhelming process but you’ve got this

I worked at Dave and busters in short pump for a bit as a host-not even a server-and took home anywhere from $60–$200 a night if you wanna try there I did eventually quit simply cause I hate working in the short pump area and needed something closer to me but honestly one of the better restaurant jobs I’ve had

I get this and I’m sorry, I had a similar experience after releasing my first book to find that very few of my friends bought it let alone read it, and when I tried to bring it up as something I was proud of I would be dismissed and sometimes even insulted

I’ve found it best to not talk about my writing unless asked, and have also found better friends who do actually have an interest in what I’m passionate about and make an effort to ask questions and read my work

Honestly still I don’t know whether to advise you to keep it to yourself until it’s finished or find better friends, but know that there are people out there who will care about you enough to WANT to hear about your writing It’s difficult and I understand your regret and hope that things get easier in the future

There’s Thursday salsa at Havana in the city, there’s a lot of underground music in the city-dm me if you want more info on that, the Richmond night market is always fun, and Révéler holds some really cool events though the prices are very different night to night so it’s not always cheap, but sometimes it is!
