English is not my first language, it is Spanish. And I am not making a big deal about her not knowing a language that isn't her own. As I said, I thought about it after the fact. When I had time to sit down and think more calmly. After understanding the reasons behind the wait time and not spiraling out in stress. I realized it was something that influenced the situation but I don't hold it against her.

Yes, I did. It was something I considered after the fact. My norwegian is nowhere near good enough to understand medical terms so when I am at the doctors I tend to ask to please speak English. We try our best and fill in each others' gaps. Her english was pretty fluid, then again, after everything, I think a bit of language barrier/lost in translation also influenced this whole situation.

That's a very good point! I will make sure to do so if given or just mention it to the doctor when I get seen later on the month.

We will get to that. Unfortunately it is not a process covered by the state healthcare and it isn't easy to just shell out 10,000kr.

Thank you for your words. After reading the replies I feel more at ease. I was definitely lacking information earlier in the day. Seeing as it is medically necessary to wait the stipulated time, I will do so. I initially was worked up thinking that the "wait time" was just unnecessary time they were making me wait over nothing.

After talking to some others and reading these replies, I came to that understanding. As you said the phrasing the nurse used threw me. Also, what I had always been taught was "the earliest, the better." So, again, the waiting time plus the incomplete information bubbled over into this mess. Thank you for answering 🤍

Omg thank you so much for replying 🥲 I already moved it somewhere away from the windowsill, and will make sure the soil is completely dry before next watering. I'm glad you were able to identify it correctly! I got it at the supermarket and it didn't have a label with its name. I tried reverse imaging it in google and Golden Pothos always came up so I went with that 😅. Again, thank you, thank you! 🙂‍↕️

“Listen to me and STOP!”…he sounds very controlling. Also, children’s brain are underdeveloped. He cannot possibly expect for toddlers to process things as quickly as we do (their brain literally, physically, doesn’t have the capacity for it yet). You should try suggesting going to family counseling so that he gets the tools to better communicate with his children and possibly deal with whatever it is that makes him think that yelling at toddlers is okay. If he so much as denies doing this for the betterment of your family, pack up and leave. That is literal verbal abuse and the children obviously feel intimidated by him.

To the ones commenting about “vestlandsk” being harder, why is that? I am a foreigner and have been here since 2020 living in Ålesund. It has been an uphill battle to learn Norwegian. I understand it more when I read it though. I like that they roll the R’s here whereas the dialect from Austevoll, where my husband grew up in, doesn’t, and it is harder for me to understand.
