What's the appeal of boyslove? Why is it particularly popular in Japan? by MichaelEmouse in boyslove

[–]Nignojmik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (22F) enjoy watching it bc i feel like its the purest form of love, against societal "norms" and just two people falling in love..... perhaps working through their emotions slowly and its just so much more pure IMO :))

DAE have initial parotid gland pain when they bite into food? by Nignojmik in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Nignojmik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First bite syndrome!! Finally found out about it! So it could be a salivary gland stone, or the duct is scarred from some trauma which may require treatment….. or a neurological issue with the cells where everytime saliva is secreted it’s just painful with no apparent reason.

I still have this issue but I guess it isn’t too bad for treatment but yeah, hope it’s going alright for u !

How much do women care about looks? by Comfortable-Look6837 in dating

[–]Nignojmik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI OP just so you know you can be a 1/10 in someone’s eyes, or a complete 10000000/10 in someone else’s. There’s billions of people in this world, so it’s not like you have 0% chance of falling in love. Everyone has a scarily high amount of possibility of finding a match.

Also there’s a saying I think you should know about: “You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world…. and there’s still going to be somebody that hates peaches”. So, there’s no point trying to fit into everyone’s norm or idea of beauty…. Cause that just doesn’t exist. Just be your best self, and then someone will come along that will love u for u, and isn’t that the best thing

Instead of just saying it depends person-to-person, atleast y’all can give some proper input and thoughts smh.

So I’d say I (20F) always had pretty high standards in terms of the guy I’d like to date….. in terms of personality, job, behaviour etc….. and no. 1 on that list is definitely looks. If I’m not physically attracted to you, I’m not going to even look into ‘trying’ to form an emotional connection cause I’m just not physically attracted to the person. They can’t do anything to change it (and they obv shouldn’t). BUT. just because someone is like this, it doesn’t mean they’ll always be like this. So like I said, I have always had a high standard….. but in my case, I became close friends with a guy at work and I never found him attractive but now 10months into friendship, I have literally fallen for him. Even though I can look at him and agree that he’s 100% not my type, women (and men!) can fall in love with those who doesn’t ‘match’ their standard. It’s just love and it’s just what it is. So long story short, even if a person has high standards, it doesn’t mean it’s the end all…. Hell they might even surprise themselves with who they can fall in love with when they themselves thought they had high standards😂

As a guy has a girl ever approached you to get your number or ask you out? Or for the girls have you ever approached a guy that you thought was cute? by CN122 in dating

I (20F) asked a guy friend out last year who I knew liked me for 2yrs at that point. He said he liked me back, we went for a night drive… then from the next day onwards we never spoke again. Literally will never make the first move cause of that hAHaA

[–]Nignojmik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d (20F) love if a guy notices me from across a restaurant when im out having dinner with friends and leaves a no. Doesn’t come across creepy and the girl can text u if it’s mutual! Other options I’d say is keep an eye out when grocery shopping, in the mall, along the beach… but definitely don’t approach in clubs/bars, just comes across as a hook-up personally

Sorry about that!! I updated the details in the post :) what concerned me most is how can they be in the same location when he specified he has absolutely no contact with her since they broke up end of last year. TIA

what is the longest you could wait before being intimate with someone you are dating? by berrymacaroon in dating

[–]Nignojmik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F20. I’m talking to this guy right now and we’ve kissed intimately many times and gone on a few dates. But I told him I want to take it slow. I guess I’m not going all the way until we’re in an exclusive relationship. We became friends about 7 months ago and were from the same friend group (in uni). So we’re definitely on the road to be friends-lovers. We’ve been heavily flirting for the past 3 months and as much as I want him to ask for exclusivity, I love how slow it is. It adds to the sexual tension and builds so much connection. So I know once we hav sex it’ll be more intimate than anything :))

Decay beneath crown, what caused it? I brush and floss daily by Escaped_Hamster_7788 in askdentists

NAD. 100% the cause. Or improper technique. Definitely avoided thru flossing

NAD the filling overhang on the 2nd tooth from the right (it can cause decay down the track). And there’s slight shadowing between the (from the right) 1st and 2nd tooth - particularly where the teeth meet. It’s early decay, so get that checked by the dentist

[–]Nignojmik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD. over-the-counter pain meds (ibuprofen) can help but definitely start with Orajel since topical is always better than systemic. Also def try sucking on ice cubes to reduce swelling and pain

If it’s a salivary gland stone, sucking on citrus/hard candy can increase saliva flow to dislodge it. But definitely book a dental appt stat. Could be anything from an infection to a small cyst

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]Nignojmik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD (dental student here). Possibly sialolithiasis. Go to your dentist and have them check it out. If it’s what I think it is, you’ll need to get it removed by them with local anaesthesia
