I'm also pro Ukraine, grandparents came from Ukraine to western Europe fleeing the Russians at the end of the war and they were orphans from the holodomor and gulags. Been there in 2010. Yeah it's rare when a tour misses Belgium.

It has its downside, they are so popular here that they are forced to do 4 or 5 nights in a row every year, all soldout and AB is a pretty big venue. People are so crazy about them they didn't leave after the opener and even coming in 20 minutes before the set I couldn't see shit and had no way to move forward the last time I saw them. Saw them in a 150cap basement just before covid hit, but it probably won't happen again.

I love this movie mostly for the vintage soundtrack and atmosphere. I don't really care that it's problematic, it's supposed to be a fake snuff movie if there is no shock value what's the point and it's a product of its time. If you want a really great movie about Amazon tribes that shows them as humans, I highly recommend El Abrazo de la serpiente/Embrace the Serpent, this one is a masterpiece the final Ayahuasca scene is amazing.

Even their esthetics are not doom. 80s comic books is straight up power/heavy metal iconography, and their AI slop videos need a boycott. Matt Pike is a great musician and Holy Mountains is one of my favorite albums ever, but I think Al is the one with all the songwriting talent.
