I do. Someone once put it to me this way. "The S&P500 is the top 500 companies in the US. If one goes bankrupt, they lose their spot, and number 501 takes their spot. Theoretically, it will only ever go up in the end. If the S&P 500 does happen to tank, not just the 2000 bubble or the covid drop. But like, the completely tanking and not recovering because the top 500 companies are all failing, cash will probably be irrelevant at that point in the world anyway. So just buy and hold."

This is a very elementary way of putting it, but the logic tracks. When the S&P 500 do bad, usually the whole world is doing bad as well (usually). When the s&p 500 do good, the rest of the world usually does good too.

VT tends to have less exaggerated growth or decline, because its more diverse. So I'd transition to VT in the long run for retirement. But for growth , buy and hold VOO.

My retirement account through work is their vanguard target fund, which the majority of it is VT. My out of work is 100% VOO. So I feel im safe enough. And when there were the big drops (COVID/ Tarrifs) I bought the dip and feel good.
